We absolutely loved our stay at Wakefield Quay House. All the earlier reviews are spot on: Woodi and Johnny embrace you into their family and go out of their way to make you as comfortable as possible in a very charming and relaxed way. It's all superlatives: Wine flows abundantly at night,Woodi cooks the best scrambled eggs for breakfast (without... More

We LOVED the Wakefield Quay House and our hosts Woodi and Johnny. Stayed here 2 nights on our tour of the South Island. It was like staying with friends. Our room was very nice, with a comfortable bed and beautiful sea views. We were treated to wine, cheese and pre-dinner treats both days, despite arriving at 7pm on the first... More

Stayed over the weekend of our 40th wedding anniversary and couldn't think of a better place in the world to celebrate. Woodi and Johnny are fantastic hosts and helped our family and friends to organise surprise delivery of flowers and fizz on our arrival. Superb comfortable home from home with magnificent views over the bay, especially from the loo!! Wonderful... More

Woodi and Johnny are generous hosts.. My wife and I spent 6 nights here. Each evening came home to canapés prepared using the best of local produce and loads of great wine. Wine caps are not reused. Woodi and johnny went to a great deal of effort to organise day trips and outings with the locals fishing and kayaking making... More

we stayed over at the Wakefield Quay House for 7 days and we have to admit that it still wasn´t enough time. We would have liked to stay there for much longer. We really enjoyed our stay, not only of the beautiful and breath taking view but also because of our hosts Woddy and Johnny. They really spoilt us and... More

Take it as read that Wakefield Quay House, a lovingly restored historic home, is immaculately appointed and spotlessly clean. The views across Port Nelson and on to Tasman Bay are to die for. Yet, what made my stay here so special was the incredibly warm welcome from Johnny and Woodi. Nothing was too much trouble to arrange and every stop... More

We've just spent a few days at Wakefield Quay for the third consecutive year and we can't wait to return! Whereas there's elegance & comfort in the gracious historic homestead & the views are superb (ships, sailing boats, kayaks & swimmers by day; the moon beaming across the water and moored yachts by night) what stands out about Wakefield Quay... So many things make this B&B special. It's the intimacy of only 2 guest rooms. It's the charm of an historic home lovingly restored. It's the hosts, Woodi and Johnny, who are so gracious. And, of course, it's the magnificent view. We stayed in the Crows Nest, the room with a balcony overlooking the Bay. There's much to see and... More

Enjoy sunset drinks and nibbles on the deck and make plans for dinner and local trips based on sound advice from your congenial hosts Woodi and Johnny.
