My wife and I stayed in the Parkdale room for seven days in February, and could not have been more pleased. We wished we could have stayed longer! The location, overlooking the river, was wonderful, and an easy walk to downtown. Abel Tasman Park was a delight, the sea kayak adventure Janet and Tim booked for us was exciting, and... More

Thank you for your kind review, it is so nice when guests have the time to stay longer than just a couple of nights. It is easy to use Nelson as a base to see the 'top of the South' as you did. It also allows us to really get to know our guests and it is like saying good... More

My spouse and I stayed in the Parkdale Room for 3 nights in early Autumn, 2013. We were charmed by the attention to detail throughout the historic house. The bed was very comfortable. Coffee and tea were available 24/7. The location is perfect, with a bubbling brook stream adjacent to the property, which is an easy walk to downtown. The... More

Thank you for your kind review. The Parkdale room is certainly the room to choose for fall/ winter as it gets all day sun. The wooded hill is the geological centre of New Zealand, so the view is pretty special, thanks again. More

We stayed here for 4 nights during Easter 2012, having arrived tired and travel-weary towards the end of a 3 month trip around the world. Janet and Tim gave us a wonderful welcome - my wife had broken her wrist earlier in our trip and before we had even checked in, Tim successfully repaired her damaged wrist splint! Janet took... More

My husband and I, in addition to another couple who were traveling with us, spent two nights at Baywick Inn. The location was within easy walking distance of the town center, the rooms were very comfortable and the breakfasts were superb. Janet and Tim had great suggestions for what to do in the local area and were welcoming and friendly.... More

An amazingly well restored Victorian house with delightful hosts and great charm. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully done. Janet and Tim are full of helpful information, the food is wonderful, and the location is close to the city center. We stayed here two nights and this place is on our list of the top five places we stayed during... More

Janet and Tim, the owner-operators of this cosy B&B have perfected the art of making you welcome, and taking good care of you. Their renovated Victorian house, plus their added, newer 'out buildings' are all done in the best taste, and are cozy and welcoming. Janet's breakfasts are simply amazing, with a 'daily special' not to be missed. She and... More

This is now on our shortlist (four) of the very best places we have stayed on our visits to New Zealand. The reason, of course, is the hosts. Janet and Tim (not to mention Jazz and Mombassie, the wire-haired fox terriers) are just terrific – friendly, informative, generous and caring, always there when you need some advice. When we were... In our 5 trips to NZ we have travelled extensively and stayed in many very good guesthouses. In our opinion the Baywick Inn is far and away the best. This may sound like a very strong statement of evaluation to make but, given the fact that we have been to New Zealand twice and stayed at countless B&B's all over both Islands, I feel justified in saying that the Baywick is absolutely perfect for so many reasons and here are just a few: First and formost, they may be... Thank you for your very kind and positive review. We stayed for three days in the Green Room in this lovely, wooden house located in a lush garden. The atmosphere is very familiar and relaxed, the hosts most kind and service minded. Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed the garden, as many of our guests just don't seem to find the time for that glass of wine there. So that we don't mislead anybody,I would like to point out that all our rooms have queen beds, not king. Also I think something might have been lost in the Swedish translation... More
