As my husband was having an op at Kensington Hospital and I didn't have the car I wanted to be able to walk to the shops and cafes. It took only a few minutes to walk into town. I chose Motel Six after reading other reviews. The units are quite spacious, and unusually shaped. The furniture and fittings are not...

This is not one of the best motels in New Zealand, but quite cheap, clean and room was large, right in the heart of Whangarei supermarket 2 minutes walk.
We stayed here for two nights in Jan this year. We had an upstairs unit separate bedroom and full cooker. The unit was very quiet and very clean. Towels changed each day eventhough we followed instructions on what to do if we were prepared to re-use! We were in New Zealand for a month and stayed mostly in motels and...

I stayed here with my son in a one bedroom unit. Check in was good and we were given a bottle of milk - far better than those little plastic singles! The rooms in our unit were spotless - the kitchen benches gleamed. TV in lounge only and not a lot of space in the lounge/bedroom/dining area but adequate for...

We stayed at Motel Six recently for two nights recently. We found the rooms clean and the staff friendly, Great restaurant down the road worth a visit - KILLER PRAWN.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights recently to attend a Funeral. The motel was centrally located with a large supermarket very close by as well as all sorts of familiar restaurants within easy walking distance (McD, Pizza Hut, Chinese, Fish 'n Chips). It was freshly painted and tidy on the outside. The manager was very friendly but...

We stayed here for a joint birthday trip away with friends. Staff were friendly but the main highlight was that we couldn't get over how CLEAN everything was. While somewhat dated, the place was spotless and would encourage anyone to stay there.
This motel is a bit out of town, but is quiet and pleasant. My studio had 2 rooms - a lounge with kitchen area and a separate bedroom. The large picture window had a sliding door to the garden area. The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. You can cook your own meals, or you are next door...

We have stayed in several different Whangarei establishments and yes, generally in this town almost all are older places in various states of repair. After reading the one helpful review and decided to stop by when we arrived in town. The motel was very centrally located with a...
