Check in and quality of the room and restaurant were great. Lovely bar and service. Minor issues with check out when the Manager on duty was drunk and after 20mins of messing around didn't end up checking us out properly which involved us having a phone call later in the day to process all of the charges again.

Located right in the CBD of Launceston the Mercure is good value for money. Although the rooms are showing their age, I was quite happy with the cleanliness of the room and the helpful staff. The in house restaurant was very nice and it is a short walk to some good shopping or a cafe.

Have stayed here alot and generally OK. However their charge for internet use is unacceptable. In any case I was not asked if I needed to use internet ! A small oversight. We stayed in the hotel twice during May and were impressed with the quality of the hotel's personnel - friendly, helpful and quite professional. During our last stay, we enjoyed the "Privilege" floor where the rooms are very good. We found the rooms on the lower floor very tired and would like to see some money spent on updating them.... More
