We arrived at Woodlands B&B at 19:45 off the Oxley Highway (directions to which from Google maps was wrong). Had to rush out for dinner as Port (as the book says it’s called) is small enough which means things close early, after being ignored at a dull looking Italian we found Spicy Yahmor Thai which was grand (btw there was... My friend and I spent the most enjoyable few days with Ian and Gretel in their beautiful home set in a well-kept garden surrounded by rich woodland. The accommodation was very well appointed, indeed every need seem to be catered for. Lovely to eat a delicious breakfast on the verandah while watching the kookaburras. Ian and Gretel were the perfect... More

Woodlands B&B is hidden away behind a koala fence which runs parrallel to the main road into Port Macquarie. The directions whilst needed - are confusing as the website assumes you're driving in from the south. (Thank god for google maps!) The house itself is lovely and clean, although the decor makes us think of the 1970s! The rooms are... More

If you want a restful, beautiful, quiet, lush-as-a-meadow place to stay with fabulous hosts and food, absolutely go to the Woodlands. We stayed at Woodlands twice in one trip, which attests to its superb quality. We had our own suite complete with a lounge and kitchen. It was like having a home to come to in the midst of our... We stayed a week at Woodlands and had a fantastic holiday; we really appreciated the warm welcome and lovely hospitality. The house is set in beautiful gardens in a quiet location but within easy reach of everything. The breakfasts were great! Thank you Ian and Gretel - we hope to stay again. Sybil and Jim. More

I traveled to Port Macquarie to do the County Energy Ironman Triathlon in April. I am from the US and was with my wife and daughter, who is 16. We found Gretel and Ian to be very gracious hosts. They were extremely friendly, and made us feel very welcome. We had a downstairs 2 BR suite with a small kitchenette,... More

Ian and Gretel were impeccable hosts providing us with delicious breakfasts each morning. We stayed a week in the Frangipani Suite which was spacious and extremely comfortable. The location was good; only a few minutes from the town centre. More

Just spent 3 nights at this B&B and would recommend it to anyone. Only drawback for some is that they don't take young children, but for us baby boomers this was a definite plus. Host Ian and Greta were fantastic, friendly, very helpful and presented their property immaculately. Normally we stayed at a motel in Port in times past but... More

A colleague and I recently spent three nights at Woodlands. As statewide educators we frequently stay in B&B's or motels as we travel around NSW therefore are well positioned to comment on comfort and service available at a number of locations. We both agree that the quality of Woodlands is second to none and the hospitality afforded us by our... More
