Booked in for an overnight stay- got a very nice clean room. Had all the things needed for a great stay. Restaurants were a short walk away even on a Monday night. Staff were efficient and helpful. The price was reasonable compared to other places in town. Recommended More

I really enjoyed staying here; spotlessly clean, light, well-funrished rooms, well-equipped kitchen, great harbour veiws. There is a small safe in the bedroom, big towels, lovely open-air Pool, very pleasant staff. Newcastle has made a recovery from the dark times & is a delightful place. Nice restaurants are a short walk round the corner, easy access Car Park. I do... More

Great location right near the harbour and the Honeysuckle precinct. Our room on the 2nd floor had a view of a vacant building block, which looked as though it was about to get another commercial block built on it. When we arrived a guy was having issues with the room card. We had problems with our card in the car... More

Dear artyart84, I am pleased that you enjoyed our location. It is with disapointment that I read of your difficulties with the carpark and I offer my sincere apologies on behalf of houskeeping for marks left on the kitchen cupboards. It is great that you were able to take in some of the wonderful aspects of the Honeysuckle Precinct and... More

We paid well over $200 for a first floor balconny room on a weekend, with no breakfast or parking. Last November we paid a similar amount at the Stamford on the Brisbane River but wirth everything included. The excessive price was our only real bugbare. The rooms were fine, everything was spotlessly clean, everything worked and though we could hear... More

We paid well over $200 a night to stay here and what we received did not turn out to be good value for money. Although the hotel is in a good location the room was poorly maintained. The floor of the kitchenette was not cleaned properly upon arrival (it had sticky marks on it). Then we proceeded to find many... More

Dear kehAustralia, Thank you for reviewing Chifley Apartments. Please accept my sincere apologies that our facilities did not meet your expectations. Whilst I do acknowledge the variety of kitchen utensils is not exhaustive, we do have a large number items which are available on request and find generally that these meet the needs of most guests. We stayed here for 3 nights March 9th-12th. We had a room on the 3rd floor (305) our balcony overlooked the pool area. As mentioned in other reviews these apartments are very convenient to what the Honeysuckle area has to offer. Its a short walk from the Civic railway station if you arrive by train. We caught the bus from... More

I often visit Newcastle for work and find that an apartment is preferable to a motel room. The Chifley was particularly convenient in the Honeysuckle area as I was attending a conference at Fort Scratchley. Being able to prepare a light meal in the kitchen area if you are sick of eating out, or to do a little washing in... More

I booked a one bedroom penthouse appartments. I checked into room 601 right outside is the rail line very noisy. Busy location so the noise is always present. The cost of over $200 per night is not worth the effort More

Stayed in a 1br apartment on business for 4 months straight, only drawback was the lack of dining options but the escape card deal with nearby restaurants took care of that. Staff were friendly to the point where my cleaner and myself knew each other on first name basis. A++ More

The Chifley in Newcastle is located in the new waterfront precinct. The rooms are comfortable, and staff is attentive. Rooms get serviced every three days, which creates a sense of privacy. Parking charges are over the top considering the amount of street parking available. More
