If you are looking for a quiet, affordable place that exudes history, and you don't mind a bit of dust in the corners, you'll find that this place a gem! My husband and I stayed here for a week in October 2011 during our Great Australian Trip. I was terribly ill, but I still managed to be charmed by the... More

I stayed for one night as I was passing through Broken Hill. Friendly staff were welcoming and efficient. Motel is central and reasonable priced. Room was very tired with peeling paint on the walls although some attempts had been made to renovate. Shower was small and clean and I enjoyed a hot shower. There was quite a strong smell of... More

Thank you very much for your review and feedback. I am glad you enjoy our friendly atmosphere and found our facilities adequate. Being in the Outback the water can have a strong smell of minerals which we try and address. But as you mention I will also make a note to the house keeping staff to ensure rooms aren't left... More

A good motel in the middle of town. Our queen room was comfortable and clean. The shower recess was a little small but the water was hot and strong. Excellent small kitchen facilites of coffee making/microwave/toaster/small fridge. Comfortable bed and pillows. It is situated aboout 8 minute walk from main street. The staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was free.... More

We stayed at the Lodge Outback for 2 nights in the Luxury Heritage room. The price was very reasonable ($99 per night) The bed was very comfortable and the room was quite clean. The TV and AC functioned well, but the wifi was not working. The hotel has attractive grounds, with a lovely fountain in front. The name of the... More

We thank you very much for your review, we always appreciate feedback from our guest. We are glad that you found the room facilities functioning well and the grounds attractive. The main building of Lodge Outback Motel was built in 1908 and as you pointed out is in need of some touch ups. Since purchasing the motel in 2005 we... More

Planning an overnight trip for work, I intended to use at the same motel I stayed at for a similar trip some years ago. However when I came across the Lodge Outback Motel, I discovered that it offered similar features, very close to the other one, and for about $30/night less. I booked one of the queen spa rooms, and... More

Stayed here a couple of weeks earlier and as we were returning through Broken Hill, decided to stay at the Lodge Outback Motel again. Had a different room in the outside motel section this time but still found it on the small size and need of updating. The carpet was stained (oil spots and other marks) and the curtains need... We stayed in this motel on the 14th Jan 2012 after reading other trip advisor reviews. It was a lovely quite place to stay only wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was a queen spa room which was small but gorgeous, amazingly comfortable bed and everything we needed was there, even a perculator for coffee :) Would definitely... More

We stayed in a newly renovated spa room which was very nice and cosy. Unfortunately the spa wasn't working and reception was closed by the time we'd worked this out. Being the main reason we chose this room we were very disappointed. Otherwise a worthwhile place to stay. More

This was not an expensive place therefore I do not wish to be unfair but the motel rooms are very basic. The main hotel looked better inside. Broken Hill was wonderful. More

Thank you for the review. We aim to please and have a selection of different rooms ranging from the budget room - where a comfy bed is most important. To the more up-market renovated room including free wi-fi and spa. When possible, we are happy to move guests to another room which is more suited to their needs. Please let... More

Booked a few days before we arrived. Christine (I think her name was) at the front desk was ever so helpfull! We go a free beer each on arrival (thank you) and enjoyed it sitting out the front in the peacful setting of the hotel with its fountain and lighting. I would definetly stay here again, excellent value for money. More
