After visiting most motels in South Island, I found Westport Motel is one of the best motel which is located at very nice and quite place just before entering town. Owner are very friendly, stayed couple weeks hear for business trip.

The motel is good to reach and offers good accommodation for a few days. The room was a little bit small and old but ok for two persons. We were warmly welcomed and got comfortable quite soon. The location is quiet and undisturbed. It offers a very good basis for visits to the fur seals and the lighthouse.

I entered a time warp - right down to the tea pot. This is a funky retro fitout reminiscent of the 50's. The location was fine. The beds were comfortable. Everything supplied to self cater. We had a 2 room with a kitchen at the rear. Very clean. Would recommend for a reasonably cheap night.

OK, perhaps a little basic (especially for the price), but perfectly adequate and friendly.

Poor bed, very tiny table for eating; quite noisy considering its location away from highway; fridge turned off on arrival so took a long time to cool down. Reading light way too bright & far too high. And the usual awful tasting Westport water (w/ no filtered water available for drinking or tea/coffee.

I felt like I was in a college dorm or a youth hostel. Considering the price and the fact that the spa they raved about was broken, I don't feel like we got much for our money. However, it was clean and quiet.

This was a clean motel,happy with the condition and price. No smoke detector in suite. The spa was cold,which was a let down as we wanted to De-stress after the ch ch quakes for the weekend.

Very basic , very dated. However the sheets were clean and we got a decent nights sleep.
