This motel is quite older than 40 years but it is very tidy and clean. We had got lots of information around Queenstown from the receiptionist and he is kindly explained all activities. the views from the room was too beautiful to say in the morning, lakes, mountains and sky. I recommend you this motel if you like natural beauties.

Unfortunately this was the last destination on our 18days holiday in NZ and we stayed here around NYE! After all our amazing stays, this was a shocker! We were 5 people sharing one apartment/cottage but it was horribly designed even. There was a double bed and a real shabby dining area with plastic chairs and to get to the other... More

• This place has a spectacular view of the lake in the center of Queenstown. It is an older property that has been fixed up. Chalet type units probably built in the 60s or 70s and showing their age. It’s a little funky, but it has grown on us. It is run by a Thai family and they have been... More

I stayed at the Colonial Village Motel early this month and I will not be recommending this place to anyone.. The only exception was it was really good views and only a 20 minute stroll into the town centre. The Décor was really run down, old and smelly. I have paid a similar price and got a better room. The... More

uncomfortable beds, they charge you $30 if you don't wash your cups and $25 per hour or part therof if you check out after 10am. The bathrooms are awful, water pressure is a dribble, rooms are draughty and dimly lit, tv doesn't work. Owners speak very limited english and seem quite shifty - we actuallu took photos of the room... More

The Colonial Village Motel is part of the Earnslaw Villa Apartments. The Colonial Village Motel is old and getting a bit tied. The rooms are close to the main road and quite noisy. The room was clean but on further inspection found the bathroom linen had stains over it and the duvet was covered in stains. We would not stay... More

We stayed in the 2 bedroom motel unit. The one room was fine, bed was comfy and the view was lovely. The other room was a dark hole. The kitchen and dining area was absolutely abysmal. Worse that backpacker accommodation. There were exceptionally grimy place mats, not enough space to swing a cat, and no sofa. There was however a... More

The motel is old but quite cute, weatherboards high up on the hill overlooking the Frankton Arm. The rooms are basic and a bit run down, the utensils fairly basic, but the unit was clean and comfortable...with the gorgeous view spread out through big windows. There's a small deck, free wireless internet and it doesn't break the bank.

We stayed in two different rooms over two visits. The motel is rather quaint, quite old, made of timber and perched on a hillside but with magnificent views across Lake Wakatipu. Our rooms were nothing amazing but they were inexpensive, clean and functional, much better than the room described in the other review. It's a pleasant 15 mins walk from... More
