We recently stayed at Safari Lodge for 3 nights while my husband raced his car at Teratonga. It is very conveniently situated for almost anything you want to do in the area and would make the perfect base for exploring the wonders of the area from one coast to the other plus it is well positioned for the journey to... Although we only stayed one night, Trish and Ray were wonderful hosts. The restoration of this home was done over the course of 20 years and it is wonderful to share such a labor of love. The home is a 3 story victorian which is decorated with many African artifacts which Trish and Ray brought back from their time traveling... More

Had a lovely one night stay on our way through Invercargil. This is a top-notch B&B- beautiful rooms and furnishings, comfy beds and good food. Trish and Ray were delightful and made us feel very much at home in theirs. If you prefer the stand-off hosts who make you feel as if you are interrupting their life by staying at... More

The job Ray and Trish have done on restoring this place is simply superb. I visited at the end of the season, and was the only guest the night I stayed. Trish could not have been more helpful and accommodating, and the hot tub was a welcome relief after an exhausting day yomping around Ulva Island. The rooms are nicely... More

we hadn't planned on visiting Invercargill but are very glad we had the opportunity. The bonus was our stay at Safari Lodge. Trish and Ray were wonderful hosts. Lovely, homely atmosphere really comfortable beds with on suite and a television lounge to die for. Trish provided well cooked breakfast to order. Nothing was too much trouble. Added luxuries like the... More

Title is misleading! Trish & Ray offer an experience in Invercargill that you'll not soon forget. Trish is a wonderful hostess, helping with plans, cooking up a wonderful breakfast and running a house that is a testamony to an African adventure we only could just imagine. Ray is as close as we came to finding that "perfect southern New Zealand... More

This was our second stay at Safari Lodge, and we were again struck by the warm welcome and friendly service from proprietors Trish and Ray. We love the Victorian ambience of the Lodge with its many artefacts gleaned from the owners' five-year stay in Africa - which netted some great stories, too. Our bedroom with its compact en-suite was spacious,... More

We loved the reception and special attention to our personal needs. We also were invited to participate in a family dinner and were very impressed with the cuisine. Breakfasts were great too. Should we visit again we have no doubt where we would want to stay. The authentic period interior of the establishment impressed us very much.

We really enjoyed our short stay and regret we could not stay any longer. Hosts Ray and Trish made our stay a really really warm one, regardless of the snow outside (haha!!). If you drive by Invercargill, this is the please to stay.
