Thiis was a wonderful place to stay. From the moment I arrived jenny made me feel at home and nothing was too much trouble for her. The room was excewllent as were the breakfasts. The house is within easy walking distance of the City centre but it has a really quiet and peaceful location

Only B+B in our 2 week stay in NZ but probably the best (and cheapest) of our 9 different stays. Very nice owner and son and gorgeous property - reasonable location, nice garden, lovely room with superb bathroom (sun room). Attention to detail was outstanding with delicious homemade cakes, breakfasts (homemade croissants and superb omelettes) all included. The garden flowers... More

As someone who really doesn't like city living, staying here was the perfect alternative. City Sanctuary is just 3-minute drive to the city center, but a world away from traffic and the typical hustle bustle of city life. Jenny's hilltop house is surrounded by her gorgeous gardens, and the interior is warm and inviting. Jenny was a great help to... More

The City Sanctuary Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful home away from home for me. I stayed several days and found my hostess helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the tasty breakfasts, the lovely garden and interesting company. I would definetly stay again if I am ever in Dunedin. Anne USA

We just stay for 1 Nite before our next destination to Lake Tekapo but we found this quite interesting place to stay. We feel like we are home now. Especially warm welcome from Jenny the owner. We have a log conversation after breakfast with her before we depart and we really talk alot about Singapore and New Zealand culture. The... More

We arrived in a wet Dunedin but found this b&b warm and welcoming. Very friendly and helpful host (Jenny) and very tastefully decorated rooms. Bathroom was seperate but as no one else staying was not an issue, cosy toweling robe provided. Breakfast was super with fresh fruit and choice of continental/croissant and/or omelet etc. Not quite as close to the... More

We stayed for 3 nights in Dunedin having visited this city 3 years before and liked it so much that we wanted to return. The Otago Peninsula is a fabulous place to visit. We went to see the yellow eyed penguins in their hides at the Conservation Reserve, which was brilliant, drove to the Albatross colony and visited Larnock Castle,... More

- Old-fashioned but historic house - Rooms are old-fashioned, must be some kind of New Zealand style - Our bathroom was renovated and included a jacuzzi - B&B as expected: nothing real special - no Wifi, access only by a very old and slow computer - Breakfast was simple but fresh fruits were provided - You get a lot of... We have just left City Sanctuary after staying 3 wonderful nights. Jenny and Jake made us extremely comfortable and welcome in their lovely home. The home made croissants along with the rest of the breakfast were delicious. We would highly recommend anyone looking for a place to stay in Dunedin to put this at the top of the list. Looking... Jenny and Jake provided an exceptionally warm welcome at the City Sanctuary. I booked 4 nights over the New Year period. Previous reviews spurred me to stay here and my stay here lived up to all expectations. The room was lovely and clean as was the shower room. A comfortable bed helped me with my jet-lag and a generous and... More
