This Hotel lives up to how it is marketed. The archichect of the building is beautiful. I would love to have the staircase bannisters in my home!! It is an heritage hotel that oozes history. The rooms are standard hotel accommodation with your basics. The staff were polite & friendly. They all had excellent knowledge of the district, with helpful tips... More

Aerosmith Concert, paid $130 for a small dated room. can understand hiking prices up for a big event. Not sure if it was a budget or standard room as they all state the same thing on website. Although we did not have sky tv in our room as website state it has. Nothing a splash of paint wouldnt fix. Or... More

I really enjoyed my stay there. Very friendly and helpful staff! Very clean and cozy place ....for its age! I'll definetly stay there again! It is located about 700 metres from the Pubs and Restaurants, and basically across the street from the Railway Station

I washed up at the Leviathan after my upmarket motel cancelled my booking. This was during the March 2013 NZ-England Cricket Test when rooms in Dunedin were hard to find. As a Kiwi living in London, I first went to the Leviathan when I was a boy. What can one say? Barry, the manager, is a gem. In France, it... More

and city centre, but in dire need of renovation. Renovations are obviously under way but still a long way off completion. We stayed here twice..........on the recommendation of the organisers of a Milford Track walk. We were very grateful to be able to leave our car in the Hotel Car park whilst we were away doing the track. The rooms... More

We have stayed twice at the Leviathan. It is an older hotel but is right in the city centre of Dunedin (population 120,000) and across the road from the Settlers Museum (or is it the Otago Settlers Museum?) anyway well worth a visit and just a couple on minutes to the beautiful Dunedin railway station and only a block away... It is close to Octagon (city centre), Cadbury Choco factory, supermarket, and restaurants. All in a walking distance. On the negative side, this is old... More

Staff were really nice, I enjoyed my stay. The meals were huge, a little too much for me, but really nice. The room was nice, nice complimentaries, and comfortable. And the manager helped me with my transport problems!

Staff were very warm and friendly. The meal was great. All round great experience, very positive, thanks for making my stay great. Extra thumbs up to the staff for helping with buses.
