A very quiet place, up on a hill so has views in every direction. Free parking, nearby shops and the Botanical Gardens, a bit of a stroll of a 5 minute drive into the city centre. Great conversation, a fine breakfast and delicious evening meal (optional extra cost), a laid back and very friendly Kiwi attitude to life, cats to... More

I stayed for 2 nights at the B&B section of this hotel and it was ideal for me. The location, just behind Knox College and just past the Botanical Gardens, is great for people like me who are visiting students at Otago University. It is a bit of a walk to the Octagon, but much, much quieter than other places... More

An awesome stay ! Very convinient, with wondefully equipped, charactered home. A very uniquely architectured house, with yet reasonable tarrifs ! If I'm ever coming back to Dunedin, I'm heading straight to Arden Street House !! Lovely hosts, Joyce and Dave ! And you will love that place as you enter.

If you are looking for something a bit different when you stay in Dunedin, this is a good place. Very friendly people, clean cosy, quirky rooms. Close to restaurants and bus route. Good 20 minute walk to the Octagon. A welcoming place to stay.

My husband and I stayed for two nights in a charming comfortable double room with ensuite facilities, and a lovely view of the Botanical Gardens. Our hostess and her staff were warm and welcoming, and the breakfasts were healthy and delicious, served in a breakfast room with a good view of the valley. The (optional) dinners were tasty and inexpensive,... More

This is the second time I have stayed here. I enjoyed it so much last year I returned again. It is a lovely house with very friendly hosts. The breakfasts are delightful: fresh fruit salad, toast, cereals, coffee and juice, sitting at the dining table in the bay window overlooking the North-East Valley. The dinners are excellent value. Healthy, delicious... More

My friend and I were looking to spend one night in a B&B or motel after many days in a camper van or hostel-type lodging (Dec., 2010). We had such a wonderful experience at Arden St House we changed our plans and spent a second night there. We both agreed our stay at Arden St House was one of the... More

More then one week I stayed at Arden Street House. I had a good time and spend so long as possible. I had my own room in the back of the garden and for this I helped with cleaning, cooking and gardening. I learned a lot. The dinners are delicious and always together with the students and interesting guests and... More

My daughter and I booked this place by phone on our way from Queenstown. It sounded good in the Lonely Planet. When we arrived it was the most terrible rain so we rushed into the main house (thinking we were staying there) and it looked nice with people in the kitchen cooking so I happily paid for both of us....
