Stayed here for two nights - hotel is right in the red zone - so a lot of rebuilding going on around hotel, and not a lot to see or places to eat nearby. Right across from Re:start mall which is pretty funky to visit. Rooms are small and bathroom is tiny - but fairly typical for Ibis. Spotlessly clean... More

Hotel is very clean and staff very good. Hotel is located in the middle of the red zone from the earthquake that hit Christchurch which means that there isn't much around the hotel area. We ended up eating at the motel for tea on first night as no real restaurants near the hotel which isn't hotels fault just the rebuild... More

We stayed at the Ibis Christchurch for one night in February 2013. It was our only real option in the city centre as not a lot was open yet after the earthquake. Whilst we had a pleasant stay I'm pleased we were only there for one night, as whilst the room was perfectly clean and comfortable it was fairly small... More

The rooms are clean, and simple. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are no cafe's or restaurants around, so you will need to eat in the restaurant on the first floor. The food is good but I think expensive. It's not a bad hotel, but can't wait for the Novotel to open

Stayed for 2 nights over Queens Birthday weekend. We had King room. This was however very small, especially the bathroom, which I have found to be the norm in a lot of Ibis hotels. It was clean and tidy though and satisfactorily appointed for a short stay. The free computer/internet available in the foyer was good. We had a lovely... More

Have had two trips to Christchurch in the past few months and each time the IBIS has been the perfect location for trips. With the landscape of central Christchurch changing by the week it is great to have a view over this and up to the Port Hills (especially dusted in snow!) The hotel is right in the centre of... More

The last time we spent time at this hotel was in January 2011. A month later the whole landscape changed. It was incredible to see the difference around the area and the IBIS is a great place to stay if you want to experience central Christchurch as it is now. Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff were very... More

This hotel is pretty well what you expect from an Ibis. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, the breakfast absolutely fine. The exceptional thing about the hotel is that it is one of the few buildings functioning normally in the middle of a city devastated by an earthquake, and the thing that really made the hotel is that... Stayed here for a night. Check in was fast. Strong wifi with only 30 mins free at lobby. With computers as well. Basic amenities. Strong water pressure with warm water. Heater works extremely well. Beds were comfy. I slept soundly. Breakfast were fine, with basic range.

We had no other choice, there were still no other hotels open in the city after the earthquake. The Ibis is very central - just across from the re:START Mall. The staff were terrific - very helpful and friendly. If I had other choices though I would not stay at this hotel again. The room was very small but had... More
