Stayed at Home Lea for 2 nights in December. Having just travelled around New Zealand sleeping in hostels, staying in a lovely family home was just what we needed. The ensuite room was lovely - not sure what number but up the stairs and immediately on your left. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Thank... More

I rarely stay anywhere that I would consider better than my own house, so that should say what a great stay Home Lea was. Pauline and Gerald are tremendous hosts, cheerily welcoming me when I arrived late at 11:30am and equally cheerily seeing me off the next morning at 6:45, with a breakfast box thoughtfully ready. Breakfast was delicious with... More

I had a lovely visit at Home Lea B&B in Christchurch. Very convenient location near the downtown, concert halls, botanical gardens. All just a short walk away. The host and hostess were friendly, helpful and good cooks!

Stayed one night at this charming double storey character house. Easy walk to cbd, resturants, galleries etc. Easy to get to and find. Great hosts and we were sold, over the phone, by the charm and sales pitch of their lovely daughter. We had an upstairs room at the back which was very quiet. Bealey street is a busy road... More

Aside from the clean room, tasty breakfast and great location, this Bed and Breakfast should be known for the hospitality of the hosts. Gerald and Pauline Oliver were awesome. They made my whole family feel like an extension of their own family. They made calls to tourist locations, arranged transport, even dropped us off one time into town. I cannot... More

The descriptionof this bed and breakfast should include that it is on a very busy main road. The traffic noise was constant until about 3AM. This was bad enough but our hosts decided to empty their Garage of bricks starting at 7AM so we had very little sleep. The accommodation is all rather dingy and old-fashioned, possibly my view of... We stayed two nights around new year. Rooms are great but what really separetes Home Lea Bed and Breakfast from the rest are the hospitality of Melanie, Pauline and Gerald. Eg: When we asked for a place to have afternoon tea they made us scones! Their recomendation on strawberry fields restaurant turned out grea as well.

I have returned from a month touring NZ. Stayed in Home Lea B&B, 195 Bealey Avenue, Christchurch. This is an easy walk to Cathedral Square. If you have a car parking is available and it is easy to find. We had a wonderful welcome after a long flight from the UK. Pauline really does think of everything. The rooms are very... More

We stayed at Home Lea for the first and last nights of a two-week trip to New Zealand in late October/early November. We arrived at 9 a.m. after traveling for about 24 hours from Canada with our fourteen-month-old and were immediately made welcome. Our baby gear had been delivered earlier from the baby rentals place, and a large room had... More
