It is lovely to be able to stay at a b & b within a vineyard. The hosts were friendly and made us feel welcomed. We were fortunate to be able to taste their wines and sit and talk about the area. The rooms were clean, but a bit rustic. Overall, it was such a nice experience. More

We traveled in New Zealand for a month with another couple enjoying some of NZ's best B and B's and small inns. This was one of our favorites. Nettie, Bill and Jane are all wonderful hosts. They provide the much appreciated opportunity to visit with them and learn more about the area while offering well designed accommodations with complete privacy.... More

We booked the lodge for ten people over NY and found the place to be perfect. Highly recommend the platters to share, we had more than enough food and the outside seating was ideal. Hot tub was a winner with us all and the hospitality was excellent. Thanks Jane and Nettie for your welcoming experience. More

We stayed at the independent cottage at Straw Lodge for 4 nights this past December. The cottage was very cosy with a little fireplace (although we didn't have to use it since it was summer), and great views of the vineyard. The vines were just steps from our bedroom and the surroundings were beautiful. Nettie and Jane (and Bill) were... More

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Straw Lodge while we were visiting the Marlborough region. This is a special B & B, built by the owners as part of their small winery. They have obviosly put a lot of effort into creating a very comfortable, visually appealing place to stay. Make sure you make use... More

The Straw Lodge is amazing. I highly recommend it. Nettie, Bill, Jane (and Texas) are wonderful hosts and really make you feel like you are at home. I highly recommend the platter that Jane prepares - it was delicious. We will be back! More

My wife and I stayed for a couple of nights as we toured the wineries of the Marlborough region. Without doubt it was one of the highylights of our holiday in NZ - Nettie, Bill, Jane (and Texas) are wonderful hosts and cannot do enought to help you (recommendations on restaurants, wineries etc). One night Jane prepared a platter for... More

We had booked 2 nights at Straw Lodge, as a base to discover the wineries in Marlborough. It is more expensive than what we are used to pay (350 NZ$), but it is well worth it. First, because you actually are ON a vineyard. You will even be invited to taste the wine on the night of your arrival. Second,... More
