Its a very special place and it would be hard to find a comparible one at any place in the world. The botanic garden with the lake is outstanding. The lodge has a special character and the suites are super-cosy. The staff makes the picture perfect. It is my preffered place to stay in NZ and I will definitely come... More

New Zealand lodges are famous for luxury, fine dinning and stunning locations. The cost for two was $1500 US per night, including dinner and breakfast. It was nice, but not that nice. My husband and I have just returned from a beautiful stay at Timara Lodge. After driving through the stunning gardens we arrived at the beautiful old historic building, which is Timara Lodge.
