My daughter and I loved this B & B. The breakfast was great, Jane was so helpful and made us feel very welcome. She keeps cookies in a cookie jar for her guests to eat throughout the day. The B & B is centrally located and we walked from it to several places--in fact, there is a lovely path right... More

Very comfortable B&B, wonderful breakfast, spacious bedrooms, good wifi. Fantastic collection of books to read. Walking distance to downtown Wellington. It is also right next to Mt. Victoria Park, so if you are a Lord of the Rings fan, you will recognize a classic scene shot there (the Hobbits hiding from the Black Riders). More

Jane is a published author and runs an excellent B&B. Her home is spotless and very convenient for all the attractions of downtown Wellington. If you're an avid reader, her library of books is a gold mine. More

This was a lovely find. All the standards are great here - Jane is a friendly and helpful host, the bed and shower are comfy, there is free functional wi-fi and the breakfast is plentiful and absolutely delicious (especially if you opt for a cooked breakfast and Jane makes you scrambled eggs with bacon). We took an early ferry after... More

We stayed at Booklovers for approximately two weeks. Our trip to New Zealand was made to fulfill a dream of our daughter to travel to New Zealand since she was 8 yrs. old.(she is now 15) Booklovers B&B was chosen as our accommodation based on reviews and the fact that Booklovers revolves around books, the love of books and the... Brilliant and characterful bed and breakfast in gorgeous and convenient location. Highly recommended, breakfasts are divine, great to chat with Jane, Sally and other guests, bus stops right outside, and great views from terrace! I can't recommend this highly enough. More

Jane Tolerton is an icon for her Booklover's B&B and her dedication to Ettie Rout, a much under-appreciated icon herself. The B&B is full of couples and maybe it is Wellington's bustle, but all was very rushed at Booklover's when we visited. Jane herself was graceous and very helpful with directions and ideas. We were not impressed with the restaurants... More

We stayed here while on holiday in NZ. The owner, Jane Tolerton, is a well-known New Zealand writer who's written 5 books, one of which won an award. The place is situated in a residential area of Wellington, so it's about 10 minute walk to downtown, which isn't bad. Plus you're near a bus stop too (which we took to... More

I booked a room at Booklovers because it was around the corner from where my overseas friends were staying, and it turned out to be a great choice. My flights were messed up because of snow, but Jane was there to greet me at 10pm and showed me how to work the front door combination - which is a great... More

We had a nice stay in this cozy B&B! Pros: The location was really convenient and there was a place for us to park our car. All the books were really awesome. The hostess was very helpful with ideas and tips. Cons: There was free wine in a guest refrigerator, but it had been open too long and tasted kind... More
