What a treat to stay here! The B&B is gorgeous and is about a 10 minute walk into lovely Taupo town. We had the entire upstairs of a house, since the Owners live downstairs. Joe & Meg were absolutely delightful hosts. We also enjoyed being able to have a soak in the hot tub or dip in the pool while... More

Joe taught science in Edinburgh, and while on a teacher exchange in New Zealand decided he had to live there. He was an admirable host for our two days at Lake Taupo, full of helpful guidance as to the best things to do and particular walks which we would enjoy. He has a scientist's and perhaps a residually teacherly interest... More

This is as good as it gets. Joe and Meg effectively let out the whole of the top floor of their beautiful house to their guests, complete with kitchen, lounge/dining room, BBQ on the deck and access to the swimming pool. Joe is a fantastic host: he is excellent at home baking and produces a mean cooked breakfast if you... More

Great location with a beautiful view. Very clean rooms and an excellent breakfast. We felt very welcome and had a lot of fun. Joe is very helpful and gives a lot of tips what you can do. He also is baking himself and takes care that the used products are local. we have been there the second time (after 2009)... More

It's no wonder this place is high up the ranks! We stayed here for two nights during our New Zealand rugby cup honeymoon. Joe was very hospitable and cooked a cracking breakfast (and knew how to make some lovely bread!) The B&B was very clean and well presented and the room was spacious complete with a stylish en suite. Thoroughly... More

We have just returned to the UK after a month in NZ for the rugby world cup, and stayed two nights in Taupo at Rangimarie. Joe made us very welcome, and we can thoroughly recommend staying here. The breakfasts are very good, and enough to set you up for the whole day. Taupo is a pleasant town and there is... More

Perfect in every way. The Rangimarie (meaning peaceful place) is a superb B&B. The hosts Joe & Meg are attentive, great fun and so welcoming. The house is exquisite - a huge lounge is beautifully appointed with wonderful matai wood flooring. There is Sky TV, delicious home baked afternoon tea, a wood burning stove, which was always burning when we... More

i only spent two days and two nights in taupo, the weather was not the best, but the cozy atmosphere of the B and B more than made up for it - wonderful breakfast every morning, cozy atmosphere and nice napping on the couch in the living room....thanks Joe!

Just can't fault this place! The room was of the highest standard top notch finish with all the basics and all the extras. Plus you get a superb living space, brilliant kitchen and huge deck with outstanding views of the lake and mountains and... a pool and hot tub - the perfect way to finish a hard days holidaying! My wife and I have travelled all over the world and typically stay in B&Bs....The Rangimarie Guest House is one of the best that we have stayed in! The owners Joe and Meg are fantastic hosts! The food was just great, homemade scones and cakes during the afternoon and a host of different goodies for breakfast. It was also my... More
