Richlyn would be one of the best B&B's in NZ due to its lush comfort, excellent bedrooms, bathroom and spaciousness. The gardens were exquisit and the decor inside was stunning. Hosts Lynn and Richard were most accommodating and gave us valuable tips on the surrounding region as well as providing a delicious breakfast.

Exquisite, luxury accommodations...lusciously decorated. Everything felt fresh and new. Bountiful, delicious breakfast served it the state of the art kitchen. Gorgeous garden and outdoor sitting areas which, unfortunately, poor weather prevented us from enjoying. Best for guests who enjoy friendly, chatty hosts.

I first stayed with my travelling companion in Dec 2007 for two nights - we were on a months tour of New Zealand and had worked our way down from Auckland. During our trip we stayed in various types of accommodation from hotels, to homestays to youth hostels and even a tent in a national park. At the time they... More

We had a lovely nights accommodation at the Richlyn Homestay. The room was perfect and we had a beautiful breakfast that accommodated our dietary restrictions. We would recommend this to anyone.

We (3 adults) stayed here for 5 nights in December 2011. From the very moment we arrived, as Lyn, Richard and Roscoe came out to greet us, I knew I had made a perfect choice. Richard and Lyn are genuinely warm people. By the time we left, we felt as though we were leaving friends behind. Their home is true... More

Our two night stay with RIchard and Lyn was the last in a string of four B&Bs in NZ and boy did we save one of the best for last! Our hosts offered the best hospitality with loads of time chatting about travel - our favourite topic. No attention to detail had been spared, the bedroom had gorgeous linen, nice... More

We had an amazing 3 night stay (wish we could have stayed longer). They are great people, open, fun, friendly, service orientated but also possess that quality of being able to 'be there' when needed or leave you to your own devices if that's what you want. Though, we travel B and B as we like the interaction with locals... More

I deliberately waited for some time to write about our stay at Richlyn, Taupo so that I could see the experience in perspective. Passage of time helps in forgetting inessential items and only the best and worst experiences remain. Nataliya & I arrived late in the evening on the Labour weekend of 2011 after a slow, leisurely drive from Wellington... More

This was our first experience of a home stay in New Zealand and it will be extremely hard to beat. Hosts Richard and Lyn (and Rosco too) were very generous with their hospitality, nothing was too much trouble. Their local knowledge made our 3 days around Taupo perfect. We can highly recommend a few nights in this beautiful environment.

This is just to endorse previous reviews - what more can we say! So peaceful and quiet yet only a short drive into town.
