We went to the Amora Lake Resort for a weekend away.and this resort we picked as we had often driven past.Duly booked a suite and were told by various people that the place is tired and needs an upgrade. Well, were these people ever wrong!!!!From the moment I made contact as we were late arriving and being informed that that... More

We stayed at the AmoraLake Resort Hotel with friends from New Zealand for 7 days. The resort was well laid out and peaceful at night. The resort has lovely views and the grounds are well maintained. The only problem was that Rotorua was a bit of a drive for tea or shopping. If you want a quiet peaceful holiday with... More

With an easy drive to Rotorua, this is a great spot to stay. There are some beautiful walks around the other lakes and a great cafe come deli a few minutes drive down the road. The grounds of this hotel and its location right on the lake say it all in regard to atmosphere. The rooms however should not have... More

Stayed as part of a work 2 day meeting and cant say enough about the service, food or rooms. The views were wonderful and my suite had underfloor heating in the bathroom, a huge corner spa bath, french doors opening onto the lakefront. Will definitely book this again both for work and for personal stays More

Such a great location along the lake and the room was spotless and very lush for the rate. We enjoyed the room so much that we didn't really want to leave. Great double bath tub, king size bed and very roomy. Other than the room the services offerred represented a 4.5 star hotel but we didn't get an opportunity to... More

An excellent venue for a business workshop - very quiet, relaxing view of the lake, excellent service and food and comfortable rooms. The only drawback was that the shower floor was not bevelled so the water flowed out of the shower and into the bedroom. It's an inexpensive taxi ride from the airport. More

We did have a lovely night's stay at Amora. The hotel staff we excellent and the food was just amazing. However it seemed a bit like the hotel was in the process of rebranding itself and wasn't sure yet whether it was a luxury resort or a mid-range hotel, so there were some discrepancies, for example the dinner was amazing... We stayed in a room with the most amazing views even on the ground floor. Found everything predominately clean but when I pulled back my bed there was two hairs. One long blond hair by the bed head and one black hair on the bed. On top of that, the walls are thin and you can hear people talking, blowing... More

Stunning location if you have a car. They didn't light the fire till 5pm which was a pity as it was cold. Food was good but rooms are a bit small for a long stay. Overall it felt a bit empty and cold in July. More

We booked a King Suite Extravaganza package and felt it was pretty good value for money. We only stayed one night, the restaurant was nice and was also peaceful both at dinner time and again at breakfast. Both dinner and breakfast were great and the service was friendly and efficient. The hotel itself is fairly old but is well maintained... More
