The room itself acturally looks like a prison cell with brick wall painted as white. The bed is not too comfortable & comes with a brown blanket. I've stayed at two Base hostels before (Queenstown and Brisbane) and found they were both very clean and well-kept. I expected the same out of Base Rotorua and was very disappointed.
