We stayed two nights. The beds were comfy, blankets a little worn, but nice. We did have A/C, but didn't really need it. Large room, very short walk, 1/2 block to great beach and activity center. Facility has washer and dryer which was a nice relief from laundry service bills. Downside was dark room, no safe or safety latch on... More

We stayed here during the New Year break and were happy enough with the place. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. The rooms are all wireless equipped and the speed is pretty quick, although New Zealand is one of the few places left in the world who charge ridiculous amounts for wireless access. The hotel is a short... More

The Scenic hotel in Pahia is okay, but I've seen better places in this price range. It could do with some upgrading. The hotel staff is very nice and helpfull. The room was nice and spacious, we had a Superior room. The ceiling fan was good, and a lot better than most AC's. The bed was a bit worn, a... More

Just home from two enjoyable nights at the Paihia Scenic. Our room was a two bedroomed loft style - bedroom/lounge and bathroom downstairs, bedroom upstairs. Our room was not airconditioned but lots of windows and ceiling fan, also a standup fan to provide coolness. The rooms were exceptionally quiet, clean and well appointed. Modern furnishing and a balcony looking out... More

We stayed two nights during summer 2010, and we had a great time there. The rooms were clean, nice and the beds comfortable. The hotel isn't located in the centre of the village, nor close to the sea (although not more than 5 minutes walk), and can be a little difficult to find when arriving by car in Paihia after... More

We stayed for two nights Jan 7 to 9 with our family of four. Check in was good. Nice staff. The room was spacious and well equipped with all you needed. Bad weather hampered our stay but it was still a nice hotel. Due to the rain all off the umbrellas had been taken by other guests but when i... More

Booked last minute one deluxe room with 2 queen sized beds for 2 nights. Room was fine, clean with plenty of space. Just a few things missing-no safe, no air con(we thought the deluxe had air con but you need the superior for this facility apparently). We were on a room only basis ,so can't comment on the food. Position... More

Lovely garden surrounds but without an ocean view, however just a short walk to the beach. From check in to check out including breakfast and... More

Thank you for your comments. We will investigate the tissue issue. I have alos passed your kind comments onto Paulo. The restaurant now has a growing reputation of good quality New Zealand cuisine and again, we are glad that this contributed to your relaxing visit. More

Fantastic value for money. Clean, spacious and modern rooms. Decent mini-bar and a delicious, reasonably priced restaurant. Great service. Pristine pool that we had all to ourselves! And a fantastic price thanks to an expedia special offer. A stone's throw from the main centre and beach, would definitely recommend! More

The hotel was very clean, very comfortable beds and is located close enough to town; about a 5-10 minute walk to downtown. I felt the food was overpriced for the quality, though some other guests I talked to really enjoyed it so it's obviously relative. Don't be fooled by the hotel name! You cannot see anything from the hotel rooms,... More

Thank you for your comments. The name 'Scenic" is part of the Scenic Hotel Group rather than what the reviewer imagined. As one of the only hotels in Paihia to have a/c, we give guests the option of upgrading to these rooms if wished. Several guests have referred to our hotel as motel due to being only 2 stories high... More
