We only stayed one night at this place, and really loved it. Conveniently located across the road from the beach and within walking distance from the city centre, we loved it. Nice and quiet, super clean and with very friendly staff. The outdoor area was very inviting!

This is such a lovely old building, full of character and in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped and a good size and there is a nice courtyard at the back. Rooms are what you would expect from a YHA hostel but clean and comfortable. I would stay there again.

YHA Napier is a small building with rather old fashion rooms. Fairly basic with shared bathroom facilities. The best thing about it is the location, right on the seafront. I highly recommend this as THE budget accommodation in the Napier / Hawkes Bay area. We only stayed for one night in a mixed 4 bed dorm, we didn't have anyone with us which was nice, and the kitchen facilities were very good. The hostel is right across the road from the beach which was nice as we woke up to the sound of the crashing waves.

These guys are so friendly and welcoming, we had a great 2 days there. Even when I left my ring behind, they did all they could to send it on to me. It reached me in Auckland successfully and I am very grateful For their help! Thanks guys
