Each time we visit Gisborne we stay at the Emerald Hotel. Great central location with views over the river. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the Hotel has a lovely pool and spa complex. We usually get a great "Stay and Dine" deal where we get a room, dinner and full breakfast in the one great rate. This is a... More

Great Hotel, other than insufficient lighting throughout the room we stayed in, no bath and the front desk not able to provide a portable mirror to apply make up, lighting in bathroom absolutely dreadful! Gorgeous views, gorgeous furnishings, very spacious, good quality mattresses, decent sized tv, fantastic pool, spa and gym. Incredibly handy in it's positioning to walk everywhere. Staff... More

We had one night here. We had an Executive suite, which had a huge separate bedroom as well as a king size bed in the lounge area. We didn't need the separate bedroom and just used the bed in the lounge, there was plenty of room here and it also had a bigger tv on the wall. However, the tv... More

Hard to find the entrance even though we knew where the hotel was. entrance is on the main road just after the bridge. The staff were very friendly. The room was just opposite the car park door. The car park is inside the building at the rear of the Hotel. The room is was very large and the room was... More

We booked into the hotel and were impressed by the spacious room with a massive bathroom. Unfortunately our room was above a neighbouring bar and although this was not a problem on our first night it certainly was on our second. However the management moved us to another room which was very lovely and quiet with a view over the... More

I think the pictures are better than the hotel. The pool looks nice but the hotel is dated and under staffed. There was no wi-fi available in the rooms and the computer in the lobby wasn't working. I'd say we were disappointed. The car park entrance was at one end of the hotel and the elevator was at the other... More

Yeah, its ok, I went to order a dessert at 840pm and was told the chef had gone home(closes at 830pm). Nothing stand out about the place, pool looked nice, reception staff were friendly. More

We had a spacious comfortable room overlooking the park. Hotel offers free indoor garage parking. Good breakfast buffet available. No WIFI facilities. Nice inner court swimming pool. Hotel has obviously had trouble controlling its mini bar facilities....not only is the fridge equipped with sensors for each item in it, items outside the fridge also have sensors. Consequently when the bottle... More

I stayed here in January 2012 for 5 days with my two young boys while visiting friends in Gisborne. I could not fault this hotel, the room was absolutely ideal, large and spacious. We had the executive suite and on booking I was asked if I wanted the king bed in the lounge area and the single beds in the... More
