No restored Victorian house, no breakfast, no friendly hosts, no personal care has ever been better. But the internet connection needs to move into the 21st century. The location is perfect for university business and thanks for your warm welcome.

Our stay at Braemar was accidental, as another BnB had double-booked us. When we arrived the building stood within the CBD of Auckland and blended in with the urban facades. We were a little hesitant at what may lay within. Braemar is a diamond within Auckland's CBD and as soon as you walk through the front door, you'll understand. The... More

Stayed 2 nights in early April 2013. This is a historic building with lots of interesting rooms with pictures and objects etc. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, comfortable, quiet and uncomplicated - just my cup of tea. The owner is helpful and friendly and the wifi is free. No complaints whatsoever. A bit more expensive than other options but... More

The Braemar on Parliament Street Bed and Breakfast in Auckland offered us a nice last night in New Zealand. This place is not cheap but it has flair. The old house is very impressive and you feel the history in the rooms. You are far away from the anonymous hotels that are everywere in Auckland. The host and his staff... More

A very friendly and clean place to stay in Auckland. Restoration of the home is just awesome. John is a very friendly host and will help you with directions. Added bonus, is the FREE of street parking. I was able to leave my car with John while I attended a course just down the road. Would have had to pay... More

John is a fabulous people person! A native born Auklander - he knows where to direct you to your interests. His restoration of the home is incredible. Our room had a sitting area, bed, and bath and shower -- delicious Spring water awaits you. And Jackie, the manager sets a beautiful table with all the things you wish you had... More

If you can find a cooler house to live it, buy it. If you can find better people to live with, move in and ask them to adopt you. The house manager, Jackie, answered the door to us inher housecoat, hair a mess...oh wait we were 9 hours early....it was 5:45am...she let us in, put us in a very victorianish... More

Braemar is an old restored home located in the heart of Auckland. We stayed for 1 night in the Norman room, which has a shared bathroom. The 2 main positives: central location and wonderful owner. You can easily walk to Albert Park in 5 minutes and the central business district within 10 minutes. John will give you guidance and try... More
