Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Comfy beds, clean and powerful showers and friendly staff. Tucked away on a quiet street for plenty of privacy. Only a stones throw from Eden Village. Garden is quite small but the porch is ideal when it's raining. More

I used this backpacker after arrival, before leave in NZ. I couldn't sleep 3days while I stayed at there. 'Cause, next room was chatting till midnight. I think the person invited friends. I really tired after long flight, and I had to get up early morning, I'm really annoyed. And after arrival stayed there, the kitchen was so dirty. But... More

A great place to stay, excellent value and a nice location. All facilities were very clean and beds very comfortable. Bus only $1.80 into Britomart. Lots of lovely shops and restaurants in the village and a 15 minute walk to Dominion Road for more choices. Really enjoyed my stay. More

We booked this since we only needed a place to sleep (had an early flight), and the price was amazing. The rooms are nice, and the location was good with some great restaurants close. More

In a beautiful area, with easy access to city centre and airport but far enough away for peace & quiet. Literally round the corner from Mt Eden village which as a great selection of places to eat. An ideal place, especially if you've just come off a long international flight and just need sleep! Staff are very aware of this... More

Being a keen traveller I rely heavily on Trip Advisor, but have never actually got round to reviewing anywhere myself, so thought I'd best start now! This place is great. We stayed here for our last stop before leaving NZ. It's in Mt Eden which is a short bus journey out of the main city, but that's no bad thing.... More

We stayed here for a few days in January and loved it. Our room was very big and comfortable, the facilities had everything we needed (including enough fridge space in the multiple fridges in the kitchen) and the staff were friendly and helpful. The area, Mt Eden, is lovely too. More

Although it seems a decent way from the city centre, there's a bus stop close-by and it's about 15 mins to the centre. The advantage is that you're away from the noise in the centre and have the benefit of a garden. I shared a room with 3 beds (no bunks) which was extremely comfortable, roomy and clean. Large kitchen... More

We booked into the Oakland Lodge by accident. We were looking for someplace near to the Molten restaurant in Mt. Eden and they were just around the corner. Saw the listing in Lonely Planet and booked at the Tourist Office at the airport. Failed to notice that it was a backpackers hostel. Glad we didn't. It's a grand place and,... More
