My problems with this hotel started on my way into Auckland. Parking. I wasn't intending on having a car when I booked, but I ended up with one and knew I'd need to deal with parking. I gave Metropolis a call to ask about the parking situation. The man on the end of the phone was distracted and short -... More

My family and I have stayed here for a number of years. It used to be a hotel, then a hotel apartment. It's in a fantastic location, just near Queen Street in the city and Chancery Lane. The car parking is overpriced though and not enough room for guests to travel around. I thought New Zealand is about driving around... More

After a recommendation by a friend to stay here, my partner and I did. Not of course before weighing up about 15 other inner-city hotels! However after realising that we could have a spacious apartment vs. small hotel room, our decision was made. The Metropolis really didn't let us down in any way. We secured a room with a balcony... Stayed at this apartment hotel for four nights including New Year's Eve. Depending on your needs this may be a suitable location and accommodation option. Staff are helpful and polite and assisted with any queries efficiently. We had a one bedroom apartment that was compact with all the necessary facilities. A kitchen with all the necessary equipment including dishwasher, dinnerware,... More

The hotel I chose for the possibility of a beautiful outlook to the will of the photo. I was in the 21 floor which was enough for a nice view. The room was very cozy and clean. receptionist was also willing to help with everything I needed. More

The Metropolis Apartments in Auckland became a welcome home away from home for my 22-year-old daughter and I last month when complications after a medical procedure forced us to radically change our accommodation and travel plans. We were hit with hefty cancellation charges for our airfares but thanks to Cliff Morgan, general manager of the Metropolis and co-owner of Luxy... More

We've been wanting to visit this apartment hotel for some time as it is a unique newish, Deco style building on an otherwise bland Auckland skyline. If you've read anything else I've reviewed you'll know that going to different hotels is a hobby for me. We booked through a company who appear to rent several apartments in the block not... More

Note, I stayed here for a lengthy period of time in 2009....this review is well overdue! My stay went from one farce to another. It started with everything in the apartment being sticky to touch. Hardly any cutlery was to be found, with a non working kettle and a black pot to cook with. The bathroom was leaking and the... More

We booked a two bedroom apartment thru luxy.co.nz for our Christmas stay in Auckland. The apartment was perfect, we travelled with our three children 8yrs, 5yrs and 1yr old and the apartment had plenty of room for them to relax and play in. The view from the room was simply stunning, sitting at the dining table on Christmas day and... More

Paid $310.00 for a 2bdrm deluxe suite including carparking. Requested a 1pm early checkin, our flight was delayed and we arrived at 3.30pm to be checked into room 1108. Bed wasnt made in one room, towels on floor, dishes in sink, room not vacuumed. No phone to ring reception. Took four suitecases downstairs to be told that we should "wait... More

It is VERY important to note. That you did not book your room through Metropolis Residences or Apartments at Metropolis. You stayed with Metro Suites which is a sub standard letting operation within the building, in which one of the owners privately lets her rooms. This operation has nothing what so ever to do with the building managements of Metropolis.... More
