Good little spot to sit and relax in the lagoon, nice friendly little caravan park, but as soon as the sun disappeared prepare to be eaten by midges. We covered up and sprayed on the mandatory 80% deet bushmans, but we were still forced to leave at 3am due to the fact we could bear the itching no more.

If you are keen to be at one with nature this is a good place for you. It is literally a long way from anywhere so bring your own supplies or catch your dinner. No views but not far from a lagoon and with wandering kangsroos and bird life. Whoever decided to name the little huts ' chalets' has a... More

Port Smith is surrounded by beautiful beaches, great swimming spots, awesome fishing... But the over strict management left a sour taste in our mouths. The 10am check out meant that, even though we had vacated our site, we were no longer welcome on the property or beaches. Didn't leave much to say for our overnight stay. :(

We stayed here in July 2012 in our 2WD motorhome. There's 100 caravan sites here, plus cabins and a camping area. The location is approximately 160 kms South of Broome. We found the Park to be very shady, but dusty, because it's lacking adequate grassed areas. Fuel (diesel and ULP), bottled LP gas refills, and kayak hire are readily available... More

We have just had 2 nights at this great location. The staff were so friendly and helpful on our arrival and whenever we popped into the well stocked shop. Large shady sites, with the best amenities we have encountered since travelling across Australia for the last month. Had an amazing Thursday night Fish and Chip meal, plus local Bidyadanga band.... My wife and I stayed at Port Smith for three nights in early July 2012. What a pleasant surprise it was, beautiful day time temperatures and cool nights provided a perfect camping experience. With oversized shady caravan and camp sites in abundance it's no wonder people have been going there for years. The fishing is superb, whether from a boat... More

We spent one night here during the wet season. The dirt road of around 20kms from the highway to the park was flooded in parts although we easily got through with our 4wd. When we arrived we found that we were the only people in the park. We stayed in an ensuite cabin. It was spotlessly clean and had everything... More

We stayed at Port Smith after being in Broome. It was an clean and friendly caravan park with a cool lagoon 2 min drive away. Crab hooks are available for free hire from reception. The ablutions were extremely clean and the roo's would lie on the empty camp sites ( the joeys were too cute!) . Manager had orphan joeys... More

Beautiful, shady park, all red dirt, which is to be expected in the North West of Western Australia. Full power except for unpowered tenting areas (these are grassed). Great facilities provided, including the best and cleanest ablution blocks I have ever had the pleasure of using. Sump point and power nearby, large level sites, some drive thru. Good laundry facilities... More
