A nice hotel for a few nights in North Melbourne. Clean and tidy rooms, with enough space to keep someone happy. A little bit away from mainstream shops/dining, but ok for a short trip. The breakfast facilities were quite nice, and hotel staff were good. Shame it didn't have a gym on-site, you had to travel a 10 minutes to... More

Thanks for taking time to review us following your stay last week. I appreciate the positive feedback on the facilities, we have put a lot of effort into upgrading the hotel in the past few months, in particular the foyer and restaurant (new carpet, repainting, new furniture on the way), and the other public areas. The new breakfast set up... More

one word: HORRIBLE! the room was terrible! we were disappointed and shocked upon entering. The window sills were old, dirty and disgusting. The bathroom was old and just plain wrong. The door is chipped and doesn't close properly. The shower area is dirty and makes you not want to shower at all. The guy at the reception was slow and... More

Thank you for your review. Since you stayed back in July there have been a lot of refurbishments and updates around the property, with all public areas repainted and refreshed (corridors, foyer restaurant, bar etc), new carpeting throughout the foyer and restaurant (just completed this week) to compliment the corridor carpet which was replaced in February. Guest rooms are being... More

This hotel looks like it's been recently renovated and feels like it's making an effort to retain guests. Smallish but comfortable room in a low-rise setting, well appointed, private outlook and with good climate control. Nice restaurant - try the chef's 'butter chicken' special (if you like that kind of thing - not too buttery). Sumptuous breakfast, included in low-season... More

Thank you for your review. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us, and noticed we are doing a lot of work around the building to keep looking fresh and inviting. There is more on the way with new carpeting in the restaurant/bar/lounge area and conference rooms being laid right now, and new restaurant / foyer furniture expected soon.... More

It was my first stay at this hotel. I attended a course at the hotel and thought it would be convenient to book in at the same place. I chose a room with a spa bath. The room was spacious but tired and dirty. I did not use the bath once during my stay as it had a dirty ring... More

Thank you for your recent review. I am sorry you feel your room was not cleaned to a reasonable standard during your stay. I understand housekeepers made a number of additional visits to the room to rectify items you had pointed out, in particular the bath was cleaned 2 or 3 times on the second day. Your comments have been... More

It is near to hospitals and quite convenient. The reception didn't know what time the tram runs and gave me the wrong information. Colour scheme of the lift is terrible. The bathroom is very small. More

Thank you for your review below. The hotel is certainly well located for the hospitals, and only a couple of minutes out of the CBD. Great for leisure also with the Zoo just round the corner and Queen Victoria Markets very close by. Apologies if youhad difficulty with trams, the tram stop located in front of the hotel should have... More

My partner and I stayed here a week ago on one of our regular visits to Melbourne. On the last 2 occassions prior to our recent stay, we have found this hotel to be pretty good value considering the location. On our most recent stay, we found the hotel borderline satisfactory again, however the airconditioning in the room did not... More

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our apologies for the issues you encountered on your recent stay with regards to the mailfunction of the AC. We have replaced a part of the central processing unit which had failed on the weekend and all rooms are fully air conditioned. It is regrettable the team were not able to action this... More

This hotel is in a good location if you want to be close to the city yet not get too caught up with traffic to get to the airport. Downside is the house keeping is lacking. From mouldy fridges to finding previous guests items. House keeping will clean once you have made them aware of the issues but that's not... More

The worst bathroom I have ever experienced in a hotel that is supposed to be four star. The strange shower curtain arrangement resulted in water all over the tiles, quite dangerous. Lift was dreadful, common areas looking tired. Great location for visiting childrens hospital, but would not stay again. Next time will stay in CBD and catch tram to hospital.... More

Thank you for your review of the property. I am sorry to hear the property did not meet your expectations, particularly the bathroom; It appears you were allocated to one of two disabled access rooms, which have an open shower area with a curtain. To allow wheelchair access into the bathroom it is obviously not possible to have a glass... More

Rydges North Melbourne is an older hotel that is in pretty dire need of a refit. The room I had (in the older main part of the hotel) was pretty tired, and the bathroom left a fair bit to be desired. The rooms are of an adequate size for a short stay, but it's really just a stopover kind of... More

Decent property close to the city on Flemington rd. Excellent value we paid $160 on a Saturday night to go to the football, the receptionist upgraded us into a superior room which was lovely – heaps of space and decent sized bathroom. Our room was overlooking Flemington road but didn’t really notice traffic or tram noise, it was pretty quiet.... More

Thank you for taking time to review the hotel.
