“Clean, central and affordable”

The apartments are an annex to the main apartment block around the corner. This meant coming in a security door and heading to the elevator with no reception or security - not the most comfortable situation if you're coming back in the early hours of the morning.

My apartment was clean, modern fittings, and was set out nicely with a little kitchenette, dining table with chairs, a small sofa and TV. The bedroom had no windows (which I didn't like that much), but the bed was enormous - there was a great built-in wardrobe with large mirror which was great. The bathroom had a shower (no bath), toilet and good sized vanity. And hairdryer - which was a life saver.

There were no 'do not disturb' signs, which was a pain, because every morning I'd be woken by banging on the door by the cleaners trying to get in. Not fabulous. I did manage to find a sign (blowing in the street, would you believe) so I put it on my door and had uninterrupted sleep the next... More

“Not happy with the Highlander apartments”

We stayed for a week for the tennis and chose this apt block as it was close to the trams, Crown etc. Apartments were very nice and clean but the building itself was very rundown and old. We needed to open a securuty door ourselves to enter as reception is around the corner in a laneway. The apartment block is in the midst of the nightclub area in Melbourne which made it very scary walking back from the tram late at night and very strange people were wandering around near the apartment during the day. Parking was a nightmare, no onsite but had to get someone from reception to walk to the car park and let us in and out. The apartments had adequate kitchen facilities but no opening windows which made it quite airless. Maybe OK for 1 night but not for a week! More
