We really enjoyed our stay at Glendalough. While my wife was initially reluctant to share a bathroom, Stan provides robes and it really worked out fine. The house is beautiful. I agree with others that the grand piano room is the one to get if it is available. We were in the room with the big four poster bed and... More

Stan was extremely welcoming and helpful. We asked him to pick us up and drop us back at the airport. He helped by washing and drying clothes. He helped with getting an idea where everything is in the city. There is a good tram service at the end of the road. We started the days with a big breakfast. The... More

I Was initially looking for some place to be between the Airport and the city for a quick and easy transit, So Looking on Google I checked out the 4 or 5 places on the highway between the two, then Glendalough B&B caught my eye as this would be the first night in Australia for my wife, and I wanted... We booked a 5 night city break as first time visitors to Melbourne, and had the typical concerns about our choice of B & B. Would the shared bathroom bother us, would the location be noisy or inconvenient, would we have to fit in with some eccentric host's strange ways? In every case, and I am not listing all our... More

Despite having lived in Melbourne for two years and having made numerous trips to the Garden City over even more, I had never heard of the Glendalough nor the tiny suburb north of the CBD area (that's downtown for my American readers) where it is situated. The way in which I discovered this B&B gem was a mixture of circumstance... More

It was a joy to meet such wonderful, well travelled guests. We were very pleased to be able to able to support your visit to Melbourne with information and tips to make your stay that little bit different, as a good B&B should be. The local cafes, restaurants and pubs around the Travancore/Flemington/Newmarket area are worth exploring, there are a... More

We stayed 4 nights at Stan's lovely B&B for $139.00 New Zealand a night and he charges $47.00 New Zealand for airport pickups. We really enjoyed ourselves, he keeps the house tidy and the temperature of the house nice and cool for those hot melbourne days which were 31 degrees most days . We used the tram everyday No59 into... More

It was just so happy to have such lovely Kiwi guests at the B&B. Our Malaysian dinner was at our favourite restaurant in Newmarket, called Chef Lagenda. It is authentic hawker food, in Melbourne. About 15 minutes walk from the B&B. It is always nice to hear that our breakfasts are appreciated, with the emphasis on fresh fruit and healthy... More

This B&B is located just minutes from a tram station in a quiet neighborhood, the rooms are clean and the host Stan is very helpful with travel (insider) tips and anything you need to know about getting around etc. Historic house, freshly renovated, good continental breakfast. Would come again! More

This is a great place to use as a base to explore the various attractions in Melbourne. It's a bit outside of the town center, but public transportation is cheap and close by. Stan is really helpful and considerate. Both the bed and the breakfast are excellent. Very happy to have stayed here. More

It is always a joy to return to Glendalough B & B. We did so very recently and again stayed in the glorious Music Room. Stan is a generous and thoughtful host, the bed is one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in and the very pleasant walk to the tram stop enables trips to and from the... More

The B&B is located in a beautiful old home on a hill. Carrying heavy luggage up these stairs is no fun so be sure to pack light! Once you're up there you're in a paradise of nature it seems! Host was very friendly. Room was clean. Free wifi internet. Breakfast is very basic. He makes accommodations so if you want... More
