I stay here about 7 or 8 years ago & it had been newly renovated & it was good. This stay was very disappointing. The spa room I booked looked ok on initial glace- but as I sit in the chair by the window I see dust on the tv cabinet & the bedside table that is very thick- it... More

We stayed at this place during the busiest weekend in Hobart – The Wooden Boat weekend or something. We were attending a wedding. We could not believe the size of room 8, which we were allocated ! It was honestly a fair sized 1-bedroom apartment! There was a lounge first, then you walk into a full kitchen, then through to... More

The person left running the place had to ring around to find us somewhere else to stay. She claimed that we were not the first guests to be double booked over the Xmas holidays & that the owners had left for a trip overseas. We waited inside & the place place looked faded & dingy. I think that we had... More

After my previous bad experience with this "hotel" I stayed there again after being offered a significant discount. Nothing has changed, poor service, cold empty rooms, pathetic breakfast. They are seriously not in the hospitality business they need to cease trading. More

Spent two nights at this place and would have stayed longer had it not been for such a bad experience. Things got off to a bad start when we found there to be no hot water in the room that we had (which had a very cramped ensuite bathroom). The room was also very cold and could only be heated... More

Only stayed one night (thankfully) The room was cold and had no decor whatsoever. The smallest shower I have ever seen. Breakfast was unorganised and food and coffee served cold. Good location but need to do something with the rooms and service. Very overpriced for this room. Not recommended. More

Great location for a Hobart based stay. Across the road from the Casino with a bus to the city at the door. Magnificent art throughout the house and quality 19th century furnishing. We had the "spa room" at the back of the house and would have to say it was in need of a refurb. Although it was very clean... More

My husband stayed here for just one night on a quick weekend getaway to Hobart and Launceston. We thought Amberley House was a little overpriced compared to other B&Bs we have stayed in previously, mainly because the service wasn't really up to scratch. I think it must have changed ownership (or management) since earlier TripAdvisor reviews, and in our opinion,... More

We stayed at this establishment in February 2008. The description on their web site, based on our experience, is inaccurate. Our room was spartan, with only a small picture placed high on the wall for decoration. There was no headboard on the bed and the furniture was utilitarian. The bathroom was minute with a shower cubicle so small that it... More

Our stay at Amberley House was very relaxed and enjoyable. We had a spa room which was very clean, comfortable and had wonderful views of Mt. Wellington. A delicious breakfast was served in the dining room each morning, and this was a good opportunity to meet and chat with our guests. Amberley House is in a great location, being only... More
