The location of the Ambassadors hotel is great! Right in town. We had parking for one car which was very well priced and we were there for 24 hours so very happy and the car park is close by too. Service was good. Lobby is awesome, bar and elevator old school - love the theme. Our room was run down... More

Fantastically located. Right next to the GPO. Food outlets all around. Pubs , clubs and decadent Hindley Street nearby. Suitible for single man and for families. Clean room. Well furnished. Big TV. Good bathroom. QUIET. Efficient check in. Ignore previous users. This place has been refurbished and it shows. Spotless.

On arrival we had a cheerful, friendly greeting and we were shown to our room, which was lovely. Unfourtunately, that's where it ends. Our bed was made up with only sheets and a light blanket. There was a doona in the cupboard with no cover on it, betting that doesn't get washed more than fortnightly. The bathroom was a disgrace.... More

I stayed at this place for two nights while attending a conference in Adelaide. I booked the room not realizing that it was also a low-rent casino, attracting many ne'er do wells. My room was noisy and dingy, the refrigerator did not work and was moldy, and the bathroom was unspeakable. I should have know that the price was too... More

Dear Valued Guest Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of our property, your feedback is valuable for our continual improvement along with our current refurbishment program. Our gaming room is a very common fixture in the Adelaide (& Australian) hotel scene with most hotels & entertainment venues with bar and dining facilities having one- we do... More

The Ambassadors Hotel is... different. For one, it's an old hotel; from what I've read it's one of the oldest hotel establishments in Adelaide. It shows. Even the "Heritage" renovated rooms, of which we stayed in (Room 101 with ensuite), was clean, but quite dated. It did not look like what is shown on the hotel's website, which goes to... More

Second stay and no complaints with this well located, characterful old place. Well maybe one small one - the bathroom of room 202 needs a towel rail. The included continental breakfast has improved since last year, everything else was much the same. Helpful, friendly staff, great location and good price.

If you are budget conscious and looking for a fab location then the ambassador is perfect. The tram stops directly outside the front door so it is very accessible to all parts of the city. I stayed in a standard room. It was freshly painted, had a comfortable bed, fridge, wardrobe and flat screen tv and they were all perfect.... More

Not sure what some of the bad reviews are all about on this website. We had a group of 22 adults, and enjoyed ourselves. Service at front desk and the bar was friendly and quick. Whilst the place is an older hotel, it was clean/tidy and, being in the middle of the CBD, close to everything so we didn't need... More

This was my second stay at the Ambassadors, to coincide with the last weekend of the Tour Downunder. In that 12 months, nothing has changed, but the prices have gone up considerably. But the pros are: great location, lovely ambience in the bar, superb meal served in the bar on a Sunday night, and air-conditioning.

We wanted a hotel room to stay in so we could avoid having to taxi home after a night out. This hotel ticked the box in terms of being cheap (we got a fairly good rate) and a place to sleep. Yes, its old, so if that bothers you, I don't think you will enjoy staying here. We managed to... More
