The rooms were very clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool and garden area is very nice and inviting. For an older woman I felt very secure with the security gates at night. I will be back next time I visit family in Alice Springs. More

This hotel is ok. I think there are a range of rooms in various states of 'modernisation'. Ours was still waiting. Is said it slept 4, but it's a very intimate stay as the CRT TV that's suspended from a precarious bracket takes up a third of the room. I exaggerate of course. The rooms were clean, but the decor... We had booked a three day excursion to Alice Springs/Uluru from Sydney on Expedia only a few days before going. This will teach us a lesson to wait till the last minute. The Desert Palm "Resort" seemed the best hotel still available for our dates. It actually look good on the site and even the critics were acceptable. Rarely have... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on trip advisor. I have spoken to the manager in regards to your comments and he did say spoke with your partner each day of your stay but does apologise for not communicating with yourself, this was not intentional. We are currently working very hard to build a better team... More

While far from a "resort" as the name suggests, Desert Palms is a good, safe, quiet and cheaper option for families visiting the Red Centre, which, with just a little work, could easily be 4 star accommodation. The bad: The villas are quite small, and with 4 sleeping in them, there is no room to do anything much other than... More

Hello, Thank you for you comments, I do appreciate feedback and it was a concerned when I read "Front desk staff are very casual - you will be attended to when people have stopped talking to each other, and have finished whatever else they are up to". Customer service is of top priority and our guests should always come first... More

Fantastic facility needs a little TLC though. Was ok, thank goodness walking distance to town, has a pool and play area. Staff weren't well trained and really didn't care too much we felt. Rooms were varied as stayed a number of times while visiting and some required maintenance. Was a secure location and would recommend for family and backpackers mainly.... More

Many thanks for your feedback which I do appreciated, I also do hope you had the opportunity to advise staff of the maintenance issues you mentioned so they can be addressed. My concern though was to read "Staff weren't well trained and really didn't care too much we felt. and staff and could excel". Please be assured I are looking... More

We liked the quiet location on the edge of town, and the little villas with front porches. The villas have large windows at the front and steep peaked roofs, but no windows inside. When you are inside and the curtains are closed, it's a bit claustrophobic, but the rooms are comfortable and more than large enough for a small family.... More

These are villa style rooms, they have a queen and 2 singles, which didnt leave much room, but would be good if you wanted to sleep 4 or have kids. Good curtains meant a sleepin was possible which was great. Cooking options were microwave and electric fry pan, the exhaust fan just went into the room so wasnt much point,... More

Cute gated place of individual cottages with steeple-like roofs. Front desk gentleman was not too helpful when asked for local information, but did inform us to make sure that we keep the car locked and items out of side, and to keep the door locked when inside due to some illegal activities in the area. You park right in front... More

We travelled to Alice Springs in November 2011. We stayed in Desert Palms Resort for seven nights. The locaton was good and prices were very reasonable. There are secured gates to the complex which are closed at night but has a keypad and code to let yourself in and out easily, The accomodation was perfect for our requirements, the rooms... More
