Yuck- looks good on the internet (good advertisement didn't see anything like those rooms). Clean I suppose but horrible for a $150.00 a night , for a 3 bedder(because I couldn't get a 2 bedder) where the main bed is shoved against the wall. The cheap venetians don't work, letting the street light stream in of a night and the... More

We had one night at this hotel for an early morning flight and wished we had just left home at the crack of dawn to drive to Sydney instead of staying here. The whole building is old and dated, bathrooms are old and scruffy, very difficult to find along this busy main road and the parking is behind the shops... More

Good hotel. Although room space was very tight but amenities were great. More

Very old and tired. Very Small room. Very very tired shared amenities. No air conditioning. Rubbish on floor. Plug in fan heater (how you find the rubbish on the floor). No spare blankets. Old decor. External lights do not go off all night, so room light all night. Totally disinterested staff. Very ordinary. On the plus side the coffee sachets were... More

...but it would not be far from the truth. To be fair, I was well aware of its 2 star rating when I booked it at its $100+ price, but I did not necessarily expect 2 star hospitality. Its boutique French windows that overlook its King Street locale, allow the passerby a glimpse into a modern, well-furnished reception area. However,... More

We drve up to the place in a cb at about 8pm. the front doors were shut and no attendant visible. First off, it is in a lousy part of tow... as the cabbie said - hookers and junkies (my words - he used an Aussie phrase) The entry was dingy, the whole building was pretty gross looking just like... We stayed here for 1 night - stopping through Sydney to drive to the Blue Mountains. The pictures on the website make it look so lovely - in reality it's more like a dingy motel. No street signage so we drove past it 3 times before seeing where it was. Car park available is actually 1 block away (although it... More

My wife, teenage daughter and myself stayed here while up in Sydney for the comedy festival. It delivered what we wanted, a reasonable place to stay, smack in the centre of Newtown. Cheap, but better than a back packers. Good friendly staff, obliging on our requests. Room was no great shakes, but clean and with comfy beds. As we were... More

I stayed at this place for one night and would never stay there again. To charge $119 for a room that is at best equivalent to a backpacker hostel room is outrageous. The photos on the internet site are very misleading and I booked the room on that basis thinking that is what the rooms look like. It turns out... More

Cheap! Suit independent travellers who don't require hotel-style attentions. Pleasant reception & quite nice downstairs lounge area with the usual tourist info available. Best thing is obviously the location. King St still hangs on to its slightly bohemian-artsy vibe, lots of cafes, pubs, retro stuff, small shops selling one-off edgy items. Good transport. Rooms are ok- a bit cramped, a... More
