There is very little effort to clean this place. Other than the most obvious places the rest is ignored. As a result the place looks tired and dirty.

Stayed here 6 nights. It was really basic rooms, the bed wasn't that comfy and because it was so warm some night the window had to be opened and all the noise outside from people and the traffic was horrible, got earplugs after the second night and then i could sleep good.
we even had a hole in one of...

We stayed here in June 2011 for 4 nights in a double room. The location was great, very close to chinatown and right in the heart of the city. I found the staff to be very helpful.
Free breakfast was very basic cereal and toast but still appreciated.
The room itself was basic but very clean and the communal bathrooms...

Me and a friend I was backpacking with stayed in a dorm room for 2 nights and were very happy. On our first night we had the room completely to ourselves and the second night there was only one other girl in with us. That was perfect for us as we were at the very end of our trip with...

Good Points
Room was spacious
Very Central
My room was very quiet
Bad points

I would not advise anyone to stay here unless desperate. The location is very good - just two minutes from the station and in the heart of Chinatown. But the room was basic and dirty with marks up the walls. No soap in the bathrooms and the communal area is very small. The free internet is good. The worst point...

It was a bit of challenge to find, and a bit of squeeze to get up the stairs with a backpack. Room was very basic with just a double bed with a sheet, a desk and clothes rail. The floor was wooden and clean, but walls were a bit damp.
Showers and toilets are shared, but cleaned daily. However, there...

We stayed here for six nights the week before Christmas and regretted it. We had a private double room and the last three nights the rate doubled as it was Christmas and we found that we could have had a decent hotel room from wotif for the same price. The hostel was reasonably well positioned for the free bus to...

I had to move in here from another hostel, payed for 6 nights, stayed 5.
Great location, close to CBD and the main train station. Though it is a bit more expensive than the nearby hostels, it includes WiFi internet and a locker inside your neat room with no air conditioning.
Within an old building with lots of stairs and...

Hotel was pretty basic but in a good location. Did an okay breakfast and had nice staff. Pretty pricey but then it was New Years Eve so so was everywhere else!
