The Situation is perfect, in a very nice area surrounded by nice places to eat (Spanish- Greek-Mexican-Italian and pubs) also close to the transport and a nice walk (25 min) to Sydney Opera and area! The hotel is ok, personally I think you can get for a bit more money a better hotel, we had a room who was only 6 SM and we couldn’t clean our teeth because it was not space in the bathroom, don’t mention shower. 5 days no news towels and we had to buy toilet paper……… 125€ a day…….. prefer next time to pay a little more. Anyway not a big difference to be in a backpackers hostel😂😂😂😂😂😂 There is a Nice Place ab Good cofre in Front!!!

Booked for 6 nights left after 4. The heating did not work for two nights could not sleep as it was 8 degrees at night in the Sydney winter. There was a hole in the window which is hard to believe and it was cracked. When we told the person onsite they came up to the room and put tape on the glass. The fire detector was covered for some reason with plastic. Dead cockroach under the bed. Bad smell in the room. The cooking pots and pans were filthy. The management was terrible, could not make contact with them. when we did they were not helpful. I understand that it is not a high budget place but I have stayed in a lot these types of places over the years and this was the worst. And we were told by management that we had got a better room than others. We were given an oil heater after a few days. Got on to the manager one night saying the heating was not working before 12 as stated that we can contact till. He said why had we not said this earlier. Freezing in the room.…

I stayed for three nights - no service at all. The room was small and dirty. The remote controller was not working. All facilities were in poor condition. I hope I could rate 0 point. Just too terrible!

Cancelled my booking without telling me. Turn up, write out half of their registration then the stupid receptionist tells me my booking has been canceled. That day. He tries to tell me they called me and I haven’t heard a peep. Well, thank you. I’m now struggling to find somewhere to stay at 8pm on aSaturday night. 🤔👎

Definitely would highly recommend Highfield to all. For the economical price, the hotel is super clean and reliable with excellent customer service. We even checked in earlier then 2pm and the manager was happy as the rooms were ready. And the best thing, they had FREE buffet breakfast with a very nice kitchen which we used to cook our Lunch and Dinner as well (THATS SOMETHING U DNT GET IN SYDNEY - eating out is so expensive).

When we were checking in, the manager assured me that room service is provided regularly. In reality, when I asked to at least take out the rubbish every day to lessen the amount of cockroaches in the room, the manager agreed but nothing was done. When the "room service" was provided about once in three days, it materialized in making the lower bed (the upper bed was ignored), putting one tiny piece of soap for a family of three and taking out the rubbish. The floor was never washed remaining awfully dirty, the dust was left everywhere. When after the first "room service" the door to the room containing all our belongings was left unlocked, I reported the fact to the manager. He assured me that they would lock the door but nothing changed. The kitchen utilities were in a filthy state. The "breakfast" included several jars (with jam, butter, etc.) in which everybody dipped their spoons. So no hygiene requirements were followed. We wanted to eat eggs, but there were so few of them that the guests even had to compete for them.…

Response from Adrian F, Manager at Highfield Private Hotel
Responded 11 Mar 2019
We highly regret letting the family stay with us at our property, we did everything and all that a hotel is supposed to do including service and cleaning and even our staff went out of the way to make them feel comfortable and home by offering foods to the family and the kid and also we normally close our kitchen at 9 pm but we let the family cook and use the kitchen until 12 pm everyday considering that they have a kid and cook the food for the child and much more but on the day of check out ( check out time is 10 am), we knocked on the door at 1 pm to just let them know that they have to check out, instead they gave our staff a hard time and accused our hotel and didn't comply to leave. finally they left at 3 pm using back door of hotel. We seriously think this family needs a help and some medical support. Team Highfield.
