The place is very near to the city area and is minutes walk from a train station. There is also plenty of choices for cafes and all kinds of food that opens till late. For the price we paid, we expected an average dorm-ish room... our expectations were exceeded in terms of the room, there was a fridge and a... More

Was in Sydney last week for 4 nights and I found the highfield hotel great value. It was close to the city and plenty of entertainment and restaurants around. The free wifi was a great added bonus. There is also a large TV (which looks quite new) in the room with good reception. The room was clean, staff were friendly... More

We stayed at the highfeild hotel over new year and we were astounded by what we got for our buck! Over new year it seemed everywhere but here had doubled their room rate! We actually moved out of the hostel we were staying in due to its terrible condition and extortionate rates. The highfeild provided us with a nice room... More

This hotel is more a prision than a hotel. The rooms are really bad, dirty sheets. The comunitary rest room is disgusting. Very noisy rooms the guest didn´t let rest you, nobody respect silence after 00 a.m. The breakfast is poor, just sandwich bread, dust cafewitout tasting. The street and the district is very bad plenty drunk people day and... More

I had high hopes when I obtained quite friendly and helpful directions to the "hotel". Upon arriving, my confidence that this was a somewhat legitimate establishment was shattered. They have certainly invested large amounts of money into security (differently coded gates, digital door locks), but I feel it would have been better spent on 'luxuries' such as reducing the gap... I stayed at the highfield hotel for 2 weeks. It's not the best hotel, but you wouldn't expect the best hotel for the price you pay. There was free wifi which worked fine, although there was a limit on the usage I think if you asked for another one they would give you another. The room was basic, no complaints,... More

Well you've come to the right place! Highfield Hotel offers you the experience of traveling in a third world country (without the ordeal of going through customs) at familiar first world prices. While the bars on the windows, multiple key point access, and digital room locks can be overwhelming at first, they remind you how dangerous the area you are... More

If you wanted a backpacker hotel, well this is one, I suppose. Let's start with the positives. 1. Clean linen 2. Secure - a good thing in a dodgy area with some strange life forms after dark 3. Close to city by bus 4. friendly staff that's about it. Condition of the building is abysmal: whoever owns it (and must... More
