We thought this Hotel was great value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast café was excellent. Louise and the other Staff made us feel very welcome. Our room was smallish but fine for my daughter and I. It was slightly below street level which was fun. Because the Hotel is centrally located we were able... More

I was booked here by the company in Sydney that hired me for the week to deliver a training course. Got here from the Sydney international airport via the train, getting off at Central Station. Nice walk here this morning, and found that it was close enough to restaurants and Coles supermarket where I could get my fruits and supplies.... More

I've stayed here multiple times and the rooms can vary from small to spacious. Overall it is clean, quiet, and conveniently located with friendly staff. The rooms are modern and air conditioned, but most of the rooms have windows you can open for fresh air.

Very friendly and affordable hotel. Get a nice breakfast at $10 in Sydney... can't get any cheaper. Especially Louise helped us out with booking trips for us. Everybody is being very friendly in general. Room can be a bit crowdy when you have a lot of luggage (like us), but bed was good.

The accommodation wasn't bad, just a lil bit too far from the city, But their service extremely bad, reception even cut of the phone with rude attitude, Got charge even more than 300 bucks, it doesn't worth to stay in budget hotel with price with more than 700bucks for 2 night. i would rather stay at inner city than budget hotel.... Very basic budget style accommodation. Stay for the price and location if it pleases you. Last millenium TV, small room, no computer desk, no mini bar or chocs or drinks, no in room iron. No breakfast prior to 7am. Not for the business traveller.

We stayed at the Vulcan Hotel over the New Year period. On the positive side the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the bathroom of good size and the staff friendly and helpful. However the room we had was groundfloor and faced onto an internal courtyard so, for privacy, had to keep the blinds lowered. The room was cramped, dark... More

The concept of a boutique hotel is nice but only if you get what you pay for. Peeling paint with rain related flooding in the hallway isnt my cup of tea. I have stayed in closests bigger than the bedrooms. You really feel claustrophobic. However, major props to the staff. They dealt with a number of issues and were professional.... More

Very mixed feelings about The Vulcan. We got of to a bad start after booking at the Vulcan for 5 nights in a Deluxe Room (or the one above the most basic). As I like to double check everything, two days before our trip I called the Vulcan to confirm our reservation. To my horror they had no record of... More

Basic rooms, bed OK and room was pretty quiet (ask for one away from Wattle street). TV tiny and no microwave, just a kettle. Bathroom good size. Not right in the CBD but easy to get a bus in (10-15 minutes) and Broadway shops just up the road.
