I stayed here for a few months in 2012 and it was fantastic. Although the rooms were not very clean and the kitchen was pretty disgusting, the reception staff were really helpful and the location could not be better. 1 minute walk from a station, tonnes of bars, strip clubs and other hostels on kings cross and walking distant to... I had booked into the hostel for a few nights but only survived one! The rooms were cramped and the beds felt like they were about to collapse, as they were such poor quality. There was no air conditioning or a fan in the height of summer, which meant it was like sleeping in a sauna even with the window... More

We came to this hostel because it was the cheapest one we found. But if you take a look at the broken furniture, the dirty bathrooms or dirty rooms in general, the fact that you sweat every night, the smell of urine and weed in the corridors, not half of its price is reasonable!

I stayed here for 9 nights, and whats more I paid for the top room on my own (rather than share), it was a dump totally. The room was what you would expect in a seedy New York hookers hotel, it was noisy, dirty and very unfriendly. I would not stay here again even if it was free, it was... More

At first we were directed to a room, when we got there (we weren't shown) there were people in our beds. When we realised the state of the accomodation we tried to get our money back but to no avail. We were travelling for 4 months and had been all over South East Asia and then OZ. The Globe Backpackers... More

Have been there on November 2011 with my girlfriend. The hostel is generally dirty, very noisy during the night because of its location (kings cross is full of pubs and night clubs). Friendly staff but NO INTERNET CONNECTION (just a couple of pc you can use half an hour each day), in my opinion it's something unbelievebale. The kitchen is... More

I have stayed in s***holes many a time, but this is the only place I have ever wanted to get out of and had there been any other rooms available elsewhere I would of left. There was a 'used' porn mag left In the bed, There was no hot water at all, and the place was FILTHY. Music keeps you... More

Without a doubt the worst accommodation we encountered in our six months of travelling. The whole building was filthy - on several occassions there was vomit in the corridors. One evening there was a used condom hanging from the ceiling which you had to duck to avoid to go upstairs. The shower 'block' was also disgusting and the hot water... More

Dump is all I can say, But the party side of the hostel was amazing. I made some great friends, had a great time in Sydney. But this is not a hostel for girly girls or flashpackers. If you want to have fun stay here, if you want anything else go some where else

I stayed at the Globe Backpackers for a month and I really liked it at that time. The Globe is located in the middle of Kings Cross, the party district of Sydney which means: Party all night and every night. For people wanting to sleep: This is definetely the wrong hostel. People looking for good party, great offers (eg. drink... More
