You come out of the shower feeling dirty the bathrooms are filthy. The rooms have poor ventilation and not much cleaner. Yuck More

I have two visits to Avalon Backpackers and both were wonderful experiences. Kitchen clean tidy and no cockroaches. My room was beautifully kept and clean. Clean fresh linen, a Beautifully run backpackers. I can only think the above revue must have been smoking something they should not have been. I am a 69 year old lady and wouldn't stay where... More

Welcome to Avalon Zoo insect house. The cockroaches were friendlier than the staff who fleeced us for a $50 deposit EACH in case we stole the filthy crockery or damp smelly bedding. The kitchen was disgusting and crawling with cockroaches, the matresses looked like they'd been used by a herion addict going cold turkey and the dorms were the worst... More
