just returned from overnight stay at this hotel. It was perfect. The staff are wonderful the rooms are lovely. We were greeted by lovley young man called Richard. showed us to our rooms and explained everything, and throughout our stay was very attentive. Very hard working and a credit to the hotel. The rooms are in a block away from... More

Stayed here for one night as a last minute break to get away from the stresses of home. Unfortunatly wasn't the restful night we were after, the room was lovely but you mayaswell have been in a dorm room with the amount of noise, doors banging footsteps over head all night and a car alarm going off repeatedly all night.... On Saturday 4th May 2013 we chose the Old Barn as the venue for our daughter and Son in law`s wedding celebration party having been in Maui in April for the wedding ceremony. With 140 guests the venue was perfect. Jacqui and her team provided excellent service and advice from the start. The room looked splendid, the food was exceptional,... More

The room was very comfortable and clean. From arrival to departure the staff were professional and friendly. The restaurant was not to formal but had the friendly feel of your local. I didn't get a get chance to go for a walk but the area looked fantastic. The only problem was I couldn't stay longer.

My husband and I stayed in the Penhow Suite as a treat for his birthday. We had wanted somewhere fairly close to home, small, relaxed, affordable and yet with a touch of luxury. The Old Barn Inn appeared to tick all the boxes. I have to say that once we got there our expectations were actually exceeded. The photographs on... More

I stayed here recently while on business, by chance after searching hotels within 15 miles of Avonmouth. Sometimes luck pays off, as I would never have searched for a hotel in or around Newport! The usual requirements of free parking and free wi-fi ticked the initial boxes. Really nice room, comfortable bed, well equipped and good sized bathroom, yes the... More

Stayed here with a group of friends on our way to Celtic Manor, it was first class. The whole experience from check in to check out couldn't be faulted. The staff should be commended as their customer care skills were second to none and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless and the decor very tasteful. We ate... More

Myself and my husband stayed here over night on Sunday 14th April 2013. The room was lovely, tastefully furnished, with free wifi internet. Upon booking the Reception staff were so helpful, showing us to our room, and explaining about the restaurant opening times etc. The restaurant and bar were not attached to the hotel, but was less than 10yrds away.... We had to travel down to South Wales for a family funeral and so booked two nights at the old Barn Inn. My mother and I stayed in a disabled twin room with wet room which well suited our needs. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had two evening meals and a lunch in the... More

A very nice place to stay. Lovely room and excellent staff. Our only grumble was the quality of the evening meal: an Amercian style burger that would be better described as an Iceland burger, as that's probably where it was bought! It was the Light Bite option and was really cheap and indigestion inducing. For the same money, Wetherspoons throw... More
