I stayed here when I came to Wales for a friends surprise birthday party and The Old Rectory was a great choice. Check in was 4pm as advertised but due to changes in my plans I arrived much earlier and wasn't expecting to be able to check in but as I sat in my car in the car park waiting... More

Just to echo all of the positive comments that the Celtic Guest House receives. This was our first stay, both Sue and Kat are charming and efficient, nothing is too much trouble for them and they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rooms are elegant, spacious and above all spotless. Loved the honesty tray. Breakfast... More

Very efficient service ,phoned to check what time we would be arriving. Easy to find in a semi rural position but not far from the motorway (we heard no noise) check in smooth ,shown promptly to our room and informed how the airconditioning etc worked.Asked what we would like for breakfast the following morning and directed to the nearest pub... We had a delightful stay in the Master Suite with our two young children whilst visiting the Celtic Manor Resort. Lovely comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom and all so stylish. We had a fantastic nights sleep and a delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay, didn't have breakfast as we thought £10 per head was a bit much!! Great location for anyone who wants to go to Celtic Manor. Best bits: clean, amazing shower, comfy beds and great service. Not so good: bathroom tap Well worth a stay and we would stay there again

We were traveling with our 2 small children (4 & 11 months) and this was an excellent property. Sue and Kat went out of their way to make sure that we were well looked after, even down to giving us milk for the little ones. The spacious 2 bedroom is perfect for families. There is a travel cot and high... More

It is such a lovely hotel, very well decorated and the service was first class, we even got upgraded. Just out the way of a busy road. Very comfortable, we will defiantly be visiting here again. There is even a pub across the road who are very friendly.

We revisited the Celtic Guesthouses recently and was met by Sue with her usual warm and friendly greeting. She had already booked our dinner reservation as requested and had everthing ready. The room and guesthouse were lovely and we had a super breakfast the next morning. I am sure we will be visiting again soon.

For anyone visiting Magor, Chepstow, Newport and the nearby areas, this place is well worth checking out. A fun and friendly atmosphere, spacious rooms that are beautifully presented, a lovely continental breakfast and fabulous countryside. They don't do evening meals but there are a few great restaurants in the nearby area and I would highly recommend this place for a... More
