Great place to chill out by the pool, with views of the vineyards and the Duoro River below. The welcoming cake and port was a nice way to be greeted. The hosts were very accommodating and body language seemed to work for us. Big breakfast and dinner in the family environment was great, and we enjoyed the other guests company.... More

Casa Cimeira is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. Arturo and Maria who run it have very little English but are so lovely and welcoming that it is very easy to be understood. As soon as you arrive you are welcomed with a glass of their port. We had a beautiful room on the first floor overlooking... More

I cannot recommend this place enough! Fantastic atmosphere, charming owners and beautiful views. Best bit is the lovely, home-made dinners that the big family table. It encourages great conversation with the other guests and food is plentiful and lovely and cooked with home grown vegetables. All served with amazing wine! Do not hesitate to go!

Maria and Artur don't speak any language apart from portuguese (lucky me I'm portuguese!) but from what other customers told me it doesn't make any difference as they're just very welcoming and lovely! The place is located in a small village, you'll need a car to get there (and watch out while driving in the Douro curves and then in... More

Such a lovely place, we were made extremely welcome throughout our stay with the generous hospitality of the owners, the very good food and the excellent home-produced wine on offer. The rooms were simple but spacious and with a contemporary feel whilst maintaining traditional elements. Many things about the hotel took us out of our comfort zone- village in the... More

Wow. How often does the actual experience truly exceed the reviews? In this case Casa Cimeira is well above even the fantastic reviews. That is because it is an experience that is very hard to describe. The casa is perched waaay up on a hill overlooking the gorgeous countryside and the river. The house is actually a house and the... Everything said about this place is absolutely true. The location is beyond picturesque. The owners Maria Luz and Artur (and their son Paulo) make you feel like both friends and honored guests. The room (suite, actually) we stayed in was spacious and tidy, and with beautiful views over the vinyards. The breakfasts and dinners were tasty and offered a genuine... More

Last minute decision as we arrived in Porto and wanted to visit Duoro region. all other reviews were correct on how great a place this was. We were only couple there in this off season time and was treated by Pablo , Maria, and Artur as if we were celebrities or dignitaries. the place makes their own wine and serves... More

Casa Cimeira was a great choice for our one night stay: good location in the most beautiful part of Douro Valley, excelent value for price, and most of all, very good and friendly hosts. Thank you for your wonderful homemade Port Wine!;)
