We went to this hotel as part of a deal with several friends for a chilling weekend away. Easy to locate, back of the homebase and waitrose. Grounds are pleasant, nice reception area. Check in simple, we were given a ground floor room. The walk through to our room took us through the back of the hotel, through the conservatory.... More

We stayed 2 nights the 1st night the room good but the bed mattress was smaller than the bed base which made it a little uncomferable. the second night was excellent we had a suite .The hotel was spotless the breakfast was excellent plenty of choice. WE stayed there because it was close to Castle Hill Hospital.

Great leisure facilities and gardens, let down slightly by very basic rooms but good value at the price we paid. We were booked in and out by "Gary", Gary needs an interpersonal skills course!! He simply grunted at us occasionally and pointed to where he wanted signatures. Other staff were friendly and helpful. I dont think Gary was deliberately rude... More

Ended up here because a certain booking site managed to overbook the hotel I intended to use based on a recomendation. They did get a better rate and took care of it for me, so that was OK. What can i say, Mercure is a chain and a reasonable one at that, this hotel fits their usual standards well. No... More

A few months back I was contemplating having this hotel as my wedding venue for the ceremony and reception. Our first walk around was Pretty disappointing, we got shown around by a guy that was labelled as an events co-ordinator but couldn't tell us anything about the wedding process nor rough prices so we had a rough guide as to... Thank you for sharing your views on tripadviser. We are sorry that the level of service you received for your enquiry fell below your expectations and you can be sure this has been discussed with our sales team. However, we are unsure who you are referring to as we have never employed/”sacked” a male events co-ordinator to the best of... More

Public transport available very near, taking you nto the centre of Hull or towards the sea. Reception staff very helpful - they sorted out the timetables and routes for us to use. Breakfast price is much too high - but there are local alternatives, including a supermarket cafe and two pub chains wthin walking distance. Would use hotel again and... More

What a lovely hotel! I felt genuinely welcome and valued. The entire team is not only entirely professional and efficient but warm and friendly too. Nothing was too much trouble. What ambassadors for Yorkshire tourism! I felt moved to suggest, in my response to the questionnaire about my 3 night stay, that other hotel chains would do well to send... More
