The condition of the hotel, while aged and not up to typical 4-star standards, is something I can overlook. However, the cleanliness of the room is unacceptable. We had two rooms booked, 409 and 413. Now, the first red flag was when upon our arrival 2 ladies dropped at reception to mention they will be leaving the hotel since the room is dirty and not the standard they had paid for. The Housekeeping staff, what are they getting paid for?The attached photos clearly show the room was not properly serviced, and we encountered additional issues like a malfunctioning television and expired milk capsules. Now, I have came down at reception to address this issue and give you guys a chance for a clean slate, however, I was very disappointed with how poor the receptionist handled the situation. I have provided the photos taken of the state of the room as proof , and all the receptionist could do is apologise and say “maybe they were busy”. In fairness to him, he mentioned he will take some time to look for another room. Now, we went up, and another gentleman comes knocking at the door. He came to take a look at the issues I have addressed earlier on. Now, he went away and came back with a jug of milk, which I appreciated it, and he also offered to change our bed sheets. That’s the least you could do after all the above issues we had? Change the room? That’s not satisfactory at all, especially when the receptionist never got back to me to inform me about the possible room change. On top of that, I've also attached photos of subpar breakfast food with hair in in it which is disgusting. Breakfast was bellow average. The view and the location of this hotel is the main reason why is still holding up. I have seen several responses on tripadvisor to negative reviews from the general manager trying to twist the guest complains shaping them in a form to reason out why these things are happening etc. I have a strong track record working in hospitality and hotel industry myself, and I do have expectations from a hotel that is labelled as “4 stars”

Our visit covered Nov and Dec '23. Not too many people in Hotel at this time but room was clean and well kept by staff. Breakfast was more than adequate with staff extremely helpful. Our stay overall was very pleasant, and we could not fault any part of it. Location, although going on winter, was still interesting but summer time is excellent as our previous visits here have shown. Overall this is a hotel. and location, that is well worth a stay, and is excellent value for money. John and Patricia, Peterborough, Cambs.

We stayed at St Patricks on the strength of the hotel being described as 4* and the beautiful view over Xlendi Bay. To be fair, the bay wasn’t at all busy when we went, the water was clear and warm and there were still boats and kayaks to hire and the scuba school was open. There are plenty of restaurants actually on the bay and the food was great (tasty and huge portions), people were lovely and the lack of a beach wasn’t a problem as there’s easy access to the water. Just be aware that Xlendi and Gozo in general are building sites, if you go expecting old world charm you will be disappointed. Now…St Patricks may well have been a 4* hotel 30 years ago but it certainly isn’t any more. It could be restored to its former glory but as it stands, it’s tired and, to be honest, neglected and actually dirty in some areas. At the start of our second week I noticed dirty and stained table cloths at breakfast and at the end of our stay, they were still there in exactly the same position. The balcony glass doors were dirty on arrival and were never cleaned during our stay. All of the sun loungers on the roof are worn and the majority of the plants appeared dead. Also, there was a regular smell of drains even on the roof terrace. The toilet up there was disgusting the day my partner went to use it, so much so that he didn’t bother and went down to our room. I could go on but the pictures should tell you all you need to know. Yes, it’s handy for the bay but there are other places there that we’d look at if we were to go back, but no, we wouldn’t stay at St Patricks again. I’ve added photographs of our room

Dear Ms. Eliot, Thank you very much for finding time to share your personal opinion on our product and services and which will help us to improve especially that we are currently upgrading. I do agree that there is some construction close by and others property being in the final stages of finishing works. I agree that Xlendi and Gozo are not as they were 30 years ago and I cannot believed that one had expected that no progress was not to be done in all these years. Personally I think that 'progress' is well overdone and definitely, Xlendi is totally different from what it was 5 years ago let alone 30 or so years ago. As regards to the star rating of the hotel and all hotels over the archipelago, this is done by well versed and competent officials who have years of experience in this field to ensure that we follow rigid criteria as required by the authorities . I would be happy to see your credentials in this field. Unfortunately I have to agree with you that our staff have to face disgusting situations left by clients who find it very difficult to just flush after making use of the public toilets on many occasions. I apologise for this on behalf of whoever found it in that state. As regards to the plants on sixth floor, there are a variety of plants some are in bloom during the hot summer season and others are now in their early bloom for the winter season. New sun loungers will be in place for the next summer season. While thanking you for your custom, we wish you all the very best. J. Attard General Manager

St Patrick's Hotel is in a beautiful setting. We would have happily stayed in our sea view room the entire duration of our stay and watched the view change throughout the day. The location in Xlendi Bay is perfect. You can stroll, swim and hike nearby. The staff, both hotel and restaurant, were friendly, attentive and engaged. We had lovely conversations with those we spoke to, they arrange car hire for us and they provided us with local tips. The food, the breakfast and the set dinner menu (which changes nightly), was top quality. We decided to have all our dinners at the hotel's restaurant not just because we enjoyed the food and view so much, but also because the staff were so great. Although we only stayed two nights, we felt welcome and comfortable, and the entire atmosphere was very easy. A perfect holiday and we left feeling refreshed. Special thanks to Lino, Tamara and Janet for looking after us during our stay.

A four star hotel which is typical for Malta. Some of the rooms have a window to the indoor corridor. In that case there is hardly any daylight in your room. The restaurant has a list of standard meals which are highly priced unless you pay half board in advance.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. We opted for a room overlooking the bay and I have to say the views were amazing. The room was very comfortable and we were so close to the amenities. Would definitely stay here again. Parking is available for free behind the hotel as well. I have definitely fallen in love with Gozo!

Stayed here 2 nights as part of an organised event. Hotel is easily accessed from the main square in Xlendi Bay with lovely views over the water from the outdoor bar area. Hotel is about 15 mins from the ferry port. Hotel has 5 floors with basic rooms but perfectly acceptable to use as a base to explore the island. Parking is directly outside the hotel. We were a group of 40 people and although the food was not "great" the staff worked really hard to deliver and were very friendly. The bar was ok - good selection and well priced given the remote location. If I were in Gozo again I would stay here.

We came across St Patricks hotel on a day trip visit to Gozo from Malta a while ago, and finally we've made it here. What a beautiful bay and popular for diving/snorkeling etc. The hotel is lovely, full of character and has retained its charm - unlike the new concrete properties nearby. I found all of the staff to be wonderful; helpful, warm, friendly and welcoming (particularly the girls covering the bar, the terrace and the restaurant, busy, busy ladies!). The food is plentiful; and as we stayed on a half board basis, it was a pleasant surprise to see a choice of starters and mains rather than a restricted set menu. Breakfast too offered a good selection of hot/cold, sweet/savoury foods - the choice is yours! There's a roof solarium if you can manage the heat, and you can cool off in the plunge pool when it gets overwhelming. The only negative here was the sunbeds, which have seen better days and could do with replacing but find a good one and relax. Overall St Patricks hotel is a lovely place to stay and a great base to explore the island of Gozo
