We arrived in Arcos at 5 a.m. (12 hours late) after a terrible 33 hour travel ordeal - bad weather, broken plane, late planes, and missed flight connections. Jim Porter, our host at Casa Campana had waited up for us and drove downtown at 5 a.m. to pick us and our luggage up. Two trips. A great welcome after a... More

This was a beautiful town and this location was perfect. The view of the countryside from the balcony was lovely. Jim is a great host, very easy going and willing to help. We had a medical situation and he took the time to find a doctor that spoke English and accompanied us there to make sure we found it. Very... More

Staying in a 500 year old, authentic hill town home was what we were looking for. We parked down the hill and hiked up with limited baggage. Sparsely decorated, but cute. There are only 3 rooms, we had the one with the double bed. Had a beer on the top patio with a wonderful view. Jim created a brochure with... More

If you like to sleep in a authentic place after visiting white villages, this might be just the place for you. I hated it. First the location is not accessible by car. The parking lot is not far, if you do look it up beforehand. We did not and we parked too far and had to climb the hill on... More

It is a lovely beautiful place in the heart of the old city, clean, quiet and well priced. Watching the sun set from the terrace is amazing. Jim the host is friendly and helpful. We really loved our stay here.

On our day trip to Arcos de la Frontera we were lucky to come across Casa Campana in the town centre - a guest house which has just opened a cafe. We spent a delightful two hours in the atmospheric interior courtyard, sampling Emma's delicious tapas, locally sourced and lovingly prepared, all washed down with very good wine and coffee... More

After long days traveling through Spain, this was by far the BEST place we stayed. Jim, one of the owners, forwarded a helpful map for parking and locating the place days before we arrived. Once there we were brought up into a peaceful apartment above the old town of Arcos. There are incredible views of the Sierra and sunset from... More

We spent 3 nice nights there. The house is very well located. The room was comfortable and we could enjoy the nice terrace on the roof. Besides, the café had just opened and we had the chance to taste some good "tapas" (English touch), especially the garlic bread. We sure can say that Emma is a very good cook! Though... More

What a gem!! After a hairaising tight squeeze through the narrow streets in our hire car we managed to get a parking spot in the tiny square at the top of the street leading to Casa Campana. Emma helped us with our luggage and brought us a cold beer to the roof terrace...perfect! The views are wonderful. Simple but clean... More

Situated in the oldest part of the city, a must to stay here to see the sights. Emma our host was very helpful, showing us where we could park the car, even bringing us a beer on the house to dring on the private patio. She has even written a tour of the city with highlights of where to see.... More
