The food here is lovely, though some of the dishes are expensive for what they are. Good choice of food and drink Proper old fashioned country pub (beware the stuffed animals) Good childrens garden out the back and plenty of parking As long as you catch the owners on a good day youll have a lovely time

We stayed in the twin room for one night. One of the single beds is worn out and my back was aching so much in the middle of the night that we swapped beds so I could have a few hours sleep! The room had mould around the windows and shower which were in the room, the toilet is down... More

On recommendation, we ate at the Jolly Farmer for the first time during the first week in January. As you’d expect it was a little quiet being the week after Christmas and New Year, but there were enough people in the restaurant to make for a pleasant enough atmosphere. The food was good though a little on the expensive side,... More

I have been here many times over the years when I travel to Southampton. My major attraction to it is the food and atmosphere, as well as friendly staff. Although some might say its prices are too high for the times we now live in, you still receive top quality food. As well as lovely little gem of place inside... More

We live local to this Pub & I think lucky to have such a jewel just around the corner, not particularly cheap, but a lovely place to eat & drink especially with families. There is also a large garden with wooden play frame & Trampolines for the kids to play on in the summer. The landlords, Martin & Stella organise... More

Went for an evening meal on Saturday 17th with wife and a friend as a treat for her birthday. The choice of food was very good, and the meal was excellent. We all enjoyed what we ordered. The service was first class with very polite and helpfull waitresses. We will be going again.

From the outside the pub is very appealing to me and my husband with the country look. The rooms were clean and tidy and enough in them for the 1 night we stayed. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning cooked by the lady chef and to top it all off the cleaner was very helpful by helping me... More

I took a friend there for a beer and food whilst . I haven't been there for a while and it has deteriorated . Lots of cliquey locals and unfriendly staff. Asked to move from an empty restuarant section by the owner. Dirty glass used for refill . Priced to high for the quality of food . The charm of... More

Lovely homely pub. Food was excellent. Staff really friendly and helpful. Accommodation was ok, nothing too special, would have preferred ensuite but facilities were clean. Only down side is the stairs from the bar which are extemely steep and not very wide. The menu was very varied and the food hot and tasty. As we intended leaving eraly in the... More

... and over the years, we've just stopped going quite as much. There's not a lot of good options in the area to eat, so it's nice to have a homely pub as an option, but the food doesn't seem what it once was. Christmas is a riot at the Jolly Farmer - never before have I seen one place... More
