Vesper, the first boutique hotel on the Dutch shore opened her doors 1st of July 2014. Impeccable service, craftsmanship and a feeling of peace and calm take center stage here. Vesper promises that beauty is in the details, because leisure is much more than relaxation, leisure is an art. An inspired mix of classic hotel elegance with distinctly contemporary energy and glamour, the hotel overlooks the ever-changing North Sea and is situated in the most beautiful and exclusive surroundings of Noordwijk. Owners and brothers Michiel and Martijn van den Berg have enlisted the help of architect Bart Akkerhuis of the Paris based Studio Akkerhuis, in collaboration with Miriam Irle and Philipp Molter, to transform the exterior and interior of what was the former Hotel Clarenwijck, originally built in 1904. The breathtaking lobby, whose entire length looks out over the ocean, features a long cocktail bar. The brass and steel cabinet behind the bar, also designed by studio akkerhuis, is running from the basement to the roof, where a 1920's stained glass rooflight provides natural daylight to the lobby. Through the glass staircase or elevator you will reach your room. Vesper offers 35 spacious rooms and suites, all uniquely designed to give individual comfort. They feature vintage design furniture, handmade mattresses, luxurious bathrooms, some of which have a sauna or a complete spa. The handmade beds & pillows are from the Dutch manufacturer Softline, specially designed for Vesper. For the expert, the linen is a '300 thread count'. Most rooms have sea view and balcony. Will you choose the Classic Room, with a king size bed? Or will you go for the 70 square meter Grand Vesper Suite, equipped with a 47 square meter terrace, private sauna and a steam- and rain shower in front of the window? If you feel like visiting the surroundings, Azzuro Wellness Centre is 1.1 Km away. Here, guests can make free use of the indoor pool, the Turkish steam room, whirlpools and fitness. A tennis and squash court are also available. Vesper is located along the 13 kilometre breathtaking shore of Noordwijk. Therefore, everyone can enjoy the sunrise and sunset during a romantic stroll, jog or in Vespers' exclusive beach club with friends. Guests can enjoy a delightful afternoon on a comfortable sun bed at Beach Club Bries, just a 50 metre walk from the hotel. The Vesper Bar is an experience. The seasoned bartenders serve some of the best cocktails around, and the view is a sight to behold. In the bar menu you'll find a wide range of cocktails, wine by the glass, and a wide selection of exquisite dishes and sea food platters. 'Vespera' in Classic Latin indicates the hour that the sun sets, the sky turns violet and the stars show themselves. At Vesper you experience this moment in a special way, from your own balcony which looks out over sea, with your feet in the sand or from the lobby with a cocktail in your hand. Discover the art of leisure, welcome to Vesper.

Yes it is not a budget hotel and breakfast is 15 euros per person, but it is money well spent. The location near the ocean (just cross the road and walk on the beach) is super. The views from the rooms and breakfast area is excellent. The breakfast selection is exquisite with personal service for eggs and french toast. The staff is attentive, friendly, caring, professional and fun. The interior decoration is stylish and tasteful, perhaps with the exception of some photographs on the walls.

When visiting my family in the area, I always opt to stay at this hotel. The Vesper is well situated, being right on the beach, and close to the village shops and restaurants.
Throughout my many visits staying here, I have pinpointed what exactly I love so much about this hotel: its personality.
The hotel is designed with fun pops of colour; a reading nook has red walls and couches, the game room is painted blue and the room we stayed in was yellow. To add to the fun vibe, quirky art adorns the hotel walls, ranging from paintings of dogs designed as pop culture characters, like Batman's Joker, to black and white photographs of people in the 60's having fun. There's also a large shelf behind its bar that has all sorts of items perched in it, like bottles of champagne and the chest of a mannequin wearing a shirt and tie. All of this is complemented by glass doors letting a lot of natural light stream in that brightens up the hotel and makes it feel very cheerful. It's extremely unique and retro.
The food is fantastic! You can eat inside perched in a turquoise chair, or outside on the beautiful patio next to the beach. The seafood is fresh and well-prepared, although my personal favourite dish are the bitterballe. Since the hotel's design really prioritises the view of the ocean, you can catch a gorgeous sunset from anywhere you decide to get dinner.
Besides all of these perks, the service is incredibly friendly and can help you with anything you need. I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location, lovely staff, delicious food, cool vibe, all excellent. Recent makeover means the hotel feels fresh and light, bathrooms all top of the range, great views from most balconies. Kids loved the breakfasts, adults loved the suppers and cocktails.

Nice renovated hotel and lovely staff. Be careful, they advertise (and charge) sea view for the deluxe rooms, but it is a side sea view only!!!! No room change was possible, so we will not return. Food is fine and location is close to the beach.

Has a premium room which was quite big.
Rooms are different from each other and some have integrated the bathroom in the room.
Attention was great and the staff was there to help you.
Hotel has parking so no trouble on leaving the car.
Spa is not in the same building but at a 2 min car ride.
Breakfast has great variety.

A great experience overall!

I had a very cozy and comfortable room with a sea view.
Good taste and a relaxing ambiance in the entire hotel, very pleasant and helpful personnel who did their best to accommodate all my wishes. Specs thanks to Amira!

As I had a free voucher which allowed me the entrance to the wellness nearby, I enjoyed going to the spa, the modern swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
I booked all kind of treatments and massages at the beauty center Azzurro where I was truly pampered by the nice ladies working over there.
Thank you all for making my entire stay very special!

What a great second home! We always love to come back to Vesper, enjoying the perfect service, the delicious food and the wonderfull view! Breakfast with everything you want and seaview on top is really great. The staff is very friendly and professional, including the team at the bar ;-) We had to have a close look to the new level on the roof top because you wouldnt recognize that it is new - great work of the architect !
You know: the best is not the cheapest. But it is the best and we love it ❤️

We had a great, relaxing stay. The decor is so inspiring and original: the use of color, the layout, the artifacts and the way they are displayed, the gramophone that starts playing when you enter the room. Also a very personal approach, we felt right at home. And thanks again for the sweet upgrade! Location perfect for us, as we love the Winterlodge beach restaurant just across the road from the hotel.

Room Tip: We did not have one, but I would select a room with balcony facing the North Sea next time.
