I had not made a reservation and was assigned a double room which was apparently not properly heated and reachable only over multiple flights of stairs. The owner told me later it was their policy to give away first the "very quiet" rooms - apparently forgetting the outside winter and he was not earlier made aware of such unheated rooms....

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Bad Minden on the outskirts of Minden. We found the rooms to be clean, reasonable (89 Euro for a double deluxe), and comfortable.
